  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Swann support website for firmware updates to ensure your DVR has the latest features and security enhancements.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your DVR, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • No Power: Ensure the power cable is securely connected to the DVR and a working power outlet. Check the power adapter.
  • No Video Display: Verify that the HDMI or VGA cable is securely connected between the DVR and your monitor/TV. Ensure the monitor is set to the correct input source.
  • No Remote Viewing: Check your network cable connection to the DVR and router. Ensure your router has internet access. Remote viewing issues can sometimes be related to network port forwarding; consult your router's manual or Swann support for guidance on configuring ports.
  • Cannot Export Video: Confirm that the USB flash drive is 32GB or smaller. Larger drives may not be recognized for video export. Ensure the drive is formatted correctly (e.g., FAT32).
  • DVR Not Recording: Check the hard drive status in the DVR's menu. Ensure recording schedules are correctly configured.
  • Compatibility Issues: This DVR works with specific Swann BNC cameras. If you are using non-Swann or incompatible cameras, they may not function correctly.
