6. Operation

The Moen UT2661 Vichy M-CORE 2-Series 1-Handle Shower Trim Kit provides simple and intuitive control over water flow and temperature.

  • Turning On/Off: Rotate the handle counter-clockwise to turn on the water. Continue rotating to increase flow. Rotate clockwise to turn off.
  • Adjusting Temperature: The handle controls both flow and temperature. As you rotate the handle, the temperature will adjust from cold to hot. The M-CORE valve's pressure-balancing feature helps maintain a consistent temperature.
  • Temperature Limit Stop: The integrated temperature limit stop prevents the handle from being rotated past a preset maximum hot water temperature, enhancing safety. This can be adjusted during installation.

7. Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your Moen shower trim kit.

  • Cleaning: Clean the chrome finish regularly with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn spots, use a mild soap and water solution. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
  • Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, ammonia-based cleaners, or cleaners containing bleach, acids, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • Cartridge Replacement: If you experience issues with water flow or temperature control, the mixing valve cartridge may need to be replaced. Refer to the M-CORE valve manual or contact Moen customer support for guidance.
