Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to replace the battery in your PS3 Dualshock 3 controller. It is recommended to watch a video tutorial for visual guidance if you are unfamiliar with controller disassembly.
- Prepare Your Workspace: Ensure you have a clean, well-lit area. Gather your new Pickle Power battery, the provided tool set, and your PS3 controller.
- Disassemble the Controller: Carefully use the provided screwdriver to remove the screws from the back of your PS3 controller. Use the prying tool to gently separate the two halves of the controller casing. Be mindful of any ribbon cables connecting the halves.
- Locate and Disconnect Old Battery: Once the controller is open, locate the existing battery. Carefully disconnect its plug from the circuit board.
- Remove Old Battery: Remove the old battery from its compartment. Note that some original batteries may have a bracket or holder; the Pickle Power battery is designed for direct installation without needing this bracket.
- Install New Battery: Insert the new Pickle Power LIP1359 battery into the battery compartment. Ensure the battery connector aligns correctly with the port on the controller's circuit board and gently push it in until it is securely connected.
- Reassemble the Controller: Carefully align the two halves of the controller casing and snap them back together. Ensure no wires are pinched. Reinsert and tighten the screws using the provided screwdriver.
Important Note: The Pickle Power LIP1359 battery is designed for direct installation and does not require the internal bracket often found with original PS3 controller batteries. Do not attempt to force a bracket if your controller has one; simply install the battery directly.

The battery features a compatible connector for PS3 controllers.

Our battery allows for direct installation without an internal bracket.
Operating (Charging)
To charge your PS3 controller with the new Pickle Power battery, use the provided USB charging cable. Connect the small end of the USB cable to the controller's charging port and the larger end to a USB port on your PS3 console or a compatible computer. The controller's indicator lights will typically show charging status.
The battery features premium Grade A cells for a longer lifespan and has no memory effect, allowing you to charge it whenever convenient without reducing its overall capacity.
Maintenance
Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your Pickle Power battery:
- Keep battery terminals clean to ensure good conductivity.
- Always store the battery in a dry place when not in use.
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently; partial discharges and recharges are generally better for lithium-ion battery health.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Pickle Power battery, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Battery Not Charging: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the controller and the charging source. Try a different USB port or cable if available. Verify the controller's charging port is clean and free of debris.
- Short Battery Life: Ensure the battery is fully charged. If the issue persists after a full charge, ensure the battery was installed correctly and its connector is firm.
- Controller Not Powering On: Double-check that the battery is properly connected to the controller's circuit board. Ensure the controller halves are securely closed and all internal components are correctly seated.
If problems persist, refer to the safety information and contact customer support.
