Operating Instructions

1. Microchip Programming

The cat flap operates using your cat's unique microchip or a Pet Mate I.D. Disc (sold separately). It can store up to 30 unique microchip IDs.

  • To program a microchip, ensure the cat flap is powered on (batteries installed, not included).
  • Press and hold the programming button (refer to manual for exact location, usually near the microchip reader).
  • Gently guide your cat's head through the flap opening so its microchip passes the reader. A confirmation sound or light will indicate successful programming.
  • Repeat for all cats you wish to grant access.

The integrated 4-way rotary lock provides full control over your pet's access. Rotate the dial to select the desired setting:

  • In and Out: Allows free movement in both directions for programmed pets.
  • In Only: Allows programmed pets to enter but not exit.
  • Out Only: Allows programmed pets to exit but not enter. (Note: This setting does not selectively control which pets can exit; any animal inside can leave.)
  • Locked: Prevents all movement in both directions.

  • Inspection: Periodically check the flap for smooth operation, ensuring it swings freely and the magnetic closure engages properly. Inspect the brush seals for wear and tear.
  • Battery Replacement: The microchip reader requires batteries (not included). Replace them as needed to ensure continuous operation. Refer to the battery compartment for type and orientation.
