Setup Instructions
- Unpack the Pump: Carefully remove the pump and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
- Attach Discharge Hose:
- For standard garden hoses, attach the provided 3/4" garden hose adapter to the 1-1/4" NPT discharge port on the pump.
- Connect your garden hose (5/8 inch diameter or larger recommended) to the adapter. Ensure a tight connection to prevent leaks.
- For higher flow applications, connect a 1-1/4" NPT discharge hose directly to the pump's discharge port.
- Position the Pump: Place the pump in the area to be drained. Ensure the pump is stable and upright. The detachable bottom screen should be facing downwards to filter debris.
- Power Connection: Extend the 10-foot power cord to a suitable 115V power outlet. Ensure the outlet is grounded and protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for safety.

Operating Instructions
The Acquaer Submersible Water Pump is designed for easy operation. Simply plug the pump into a power supply, and it will begin to operate automatically when the water level reaches approximately 2 inches. The pump will continue to drain water until the level is reduced to 1/4 inch from the surface, at which point it will automatically shut off to prevent dry running and motor damage.
- Initial Placement: Place the pump directly into the water you wish to drain. Ensure the pump is fully submerged for optimal performance.
- Power On: Plug the pump's power cord into a suitable 115V GFCI-protected electrical outlet. The pump will activate automatically once the water level is sufficient.
- Monitoring: While the pump operates automatically, occasional monitoring is recommended to ensure efficient drainage and to check for any blockages.
- Automatic Shut-off: The pump will automatically turn off when the water level drops to 1/4 inch, protecting the motor from damage.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Acquaer Submersible Water Pump.
- Disconnect Power: Always unplug the pump from the power source before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
- Clean Inlet Screen: The detachable bottom screen should be regularly inspected and cleaned to prevent debris buildup, which can reduce efficiency or damage the pump. Simply detach the screen and rinse off any accumulated leaves, dirt, or other particles.
- Inspect Hoses and Connections: Periodically check the discharge hose and all connections for kinks, blockages, or leaks. Ensure all fittings are secure.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, especially during freezing temperatures, drain all water from the pump and hoses. Store the pump in a dry, protected area to prevent damage from freezing or corrosion.
Troubleshooting
If your Acquaer Submersible Water Pump is not operating as expected, refer to the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start. | No power; insufficient water level; thermal overload activated. | Check power connection and GFCI. Ensure water level is at least 2 inches. Allow pump to cool down if thermal overload activated. |
| Pump runs but no water is discharged. | Inlet screen clogged; discharge hose kinked or blocked; air lock. | Clean the inlet screen. Straighten or clear the discharge hose. Lift and lower the pump slightly to release air lock. |
| Reduced flow rate. | Partially clogged inlet screen; hose too small or too long; excessive lift height. | Clean inlet screen. Use a larger diameter hose (e.g., 1-1/4" NPT). Ensure pump is within its specified lift height. |
| Pump cycles on and off frequently. | Water level fluctuating around activation point; small amount of water remaining. | This is normal behavior when draining small amounts of water or when the water level is near the 2-inch activation point. |
