5. How to Play

Game Objective

The objective of Monopoly Spider-Man is to capture as many Supervillains as possible, build Arachnid Trackers and Spider-Bots on them, and collect rent from other players who land on your captured Supervillain spaces. The last player remaining with Coin-Webs wins the game.

Player Turn

On your turn, follow these steps:

  1. Roll the Dice: Roll both dice and move your token clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated.
  2. Action Based on Space: The action you take depends on the space your token lands on:
    • Uncaptured Supervillain: You may capture the Supervillain by paying the price indicated on the board to the Banker. If you choose not to, the Banker may auction it to the highest bidder.
    • Captured Supervillain: If another player owns the Supervillain, you must pay them rent. The rent amount increases if the owner has built Arachnid Trackers or Spider-Bots on it.
    • Daily Bugle or Arachnid Sense: Draw the top card from the respective pile and follow its instructions.
    • Go to Jail: Move your token directly to the "In Jail" space. You do not collect Coin-Webs for passing GO.
    • Free Parking: No action required.
    • Go: Collect Coin-Webs as you pass or land on this space.
  3. Build Arachnid Trackers/Spider-Bots: If you own all Supervillains in a color group, you can build Arachnid Trackers and then Spider-Bots on them during your turn, even if you didn't land on a property. You must build evenly across the color group.
  4. Trade: You can trade Supervillains, Arachnid Trackers, Spider-Bots, or Coin-Webs with other players at any time.
  5. Use Arachnid Power: You may choose to activate your Arachnid Power Card's special ability once per game.

Winning the Game

The game ends when only one player remains solvent (not bankrupt). This player is the winner and has successfully saved the city!

6. Maintenance and Care

To ensure the longevity of your Monopoly Spider-Man game, please follow these care instructions:

  • Storage: Store all game components neatly in the original box when not in use. Keep the box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the game board and plastic components with a soft, dry cloth if they become dusty. Do not use abrasive cleaners or liquids, as they may damage the surfaces.

  • Missing Pieces: In case of missing or damaged components, refer to the Warranty and Support section for assistance.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their solutions:

  • Missing Components: Double-check the "What's in the Box" section. If a piece is genuinely missing from a new game, contact Hasbro Gaming support.
  • Rules Disagreement: Refer to this instruction manual for clarification. For complex scenarios not covered, a consensus among players or a quick online search for official Monopoly rules may be helpful.
