The AireMax APE514H is a versatile portable air conditioner and heater designed to provide optimal climate control for rooms up to 500 square feet. This unit offers four operating modes: Cool, Fan, Heat, and Dry, ensuring comfort in various conditions. Setup and Installation
Unpacking
Carefully remove the unit from its packaging. Ensure all components are present:
- Portable Air Conditioner Unit
- Exhaust Window Installation Kit
- Remote Control (with batteries)
- User Manual (this document)
Placement
Place the unit on a flat, stable surface near a window. Ensure there is at least 20 inches of space around the unit for proper airflow.
Window Kit Installation
- Attach the exhaust hose to the unit's exhaust connector.
- Assemble the adjustable window panel. The kit is designed for both vertical and horizontal windows.
- Insert the window panel into the window opening and extend it to fit snugly.
- Connect the other end of the exhaust hose to the window panel. Ensure a tight seal to prevent air leakage.

Operating Instructions
Control Panel and Remote Control
The unit can be operated using the top-mounted electronic control panel or the included remote control. The soft-white LED display shows the current settings.

Operating Modes
- Cool Mode: For cooling the room. Adjust temperature using the Up/Down buttons.
- Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling. Select from 3 fan speeds (Low, Med, High).
- Heat Mode: For heating the room. Adjust temperature using the Up/Down buttons.
- Dry Mode (Dehumidify): Removes moisture from the air.
Timer Function
Set the 24-hour auto turn on/off timer to program the unit's operation according to your schedule.
Temperature Setting
The temperature can be set between 62.6°F (17°C) and 86°F (30°C).
Maintenance
Filter Cleaning
The unit is equipped with dual filters to prevent clogging and maintain efficiency. It is recommended to wash and dry the filters periodically.
- Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning.
- Locate and remove the dual filter frames from the back of the unit.
- Wash the filters with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
- Allow the filters to air dry completely before reinserting them into the unit.

Water Drainage
The unit features auto-evaporation for most conditions. However, in high humidity environments, the internal water tank may fill up, indicated by a "FULL" reminder on the LED display. When this occurs, the unit will stop operating until drained.
- Place a shallow pan or bucket under the drainage outlet at the bottom rear of the unit.
- Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out.
- Replace the drain plug once the tank is empty.
