5. Maintenance
Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your remote control.
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, lightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or alcohol, as these can damage the surface and buttons.
5.2 Battery Replacement
Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
5.3 Storage
If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage, which can damage the remote.
6. Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your remote control, try the following steps:
- Remote not responding: Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
- Weak or intermittent response: Replace the batteries with fresh AAA alkaline batteries.
- No response after battery replacement: Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote control and the infrared receiver on your Sony Sound Bar or AV system. Remove any obstructions.
