Setup Guide
- Connect to Motor: Connect the two motor wires from the ESC to your brushed DC motor. Ensure a secure connection.
- Connect to Battery: Connect the battery connector from the ESC to your compatible battery (NiCd, NiMH, or Li-po). Ensure the battery voltage is within the 6-12V range.
- Connect to Receiver: Plug the small three-wire connector (usually black, red, white/yellow) from the ESC into the throttle channel of your RC receiver. This is typically channel 2.
- Power On: Turn on your RC transmitter first, then connect the battery to the ESC. The ESC will typically emit a series of beeps to indicate successful initialization.
- Throttle Calibration (if necessary): Most ESCs automatically detect the throttle range. If your motor does not respond correctly, refer to your RC transmitter manual for throttle calibration procedures. The RUIZHI 320A ESC features automatic throttle center adjustment.

Operating Instructions
- Pre-Operation Check: Before each use, ensure all connections are secure and the battery is fully charged. Verify that the RC vehicle's steering and throttle respond correctly to your transmitter inputs.
- Starting the Vehicle: With the transmitter on and the ESC connected to the battery, slowly advance the throttle stick on your transmitter. The motor should begin to spin.
- Forward/Reverse/Brake: The ESC supports forward, reverse, and brake functions. Moving the throttle stick forward will engage forward motion. Moving it backward from the neutral position will engage braking, and further backward will engage reverse. The automatic throttle center adjustment helps in smooth transitions.
- Motor Compatibility: For 3S (12V) battery configurations, do not use motors larger than 380 size. For 2S (8.4V) battery configurations, do not use motors larger than 540 size. Exceeding these limits can damage the ESC or motor.
- Stopping the Vehicle: To stop, return the throttle stick to the neutral position. To fully power down, disconnect the battery from the ESC first, then turn off your transmitter.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the ESC to remove dust, dirt, and debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air. Avoid using liquids directly on the ESC.
- Heat Management: Ensure the ESC has adequate airflow during operation to prevent overheating. The integrated heatsink aids in heat dissipation.
- Water Exposure: While the ESC is designed to prevent water splashes, it is not fully submersible. Avoid prolonged exposure to water or operating in heavy rain to prevent damage. If it gets wet, dry it thoroughly before next use.
- Connection Integrity: Periodically check all wire connections for signs of wear, corrosion, or looseness. Replace damaged wires or connectors immediately.
- Storage: Store the ESC in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Motor does not respond | Loose connections, low battery, incorrect throttle calibration, faulty motor/ESC. | Check all wiring, charge battery, recalibrate throttle, test motor/ESC separately. |
| ESC overheats | Overloaded motor, insufficient airflow, incorrect gearing, prolonged high current draw. | Reduce load, ensure proper ventilation, check motor/gearing compatibility, allow cool-down periods. |
| Erratic motor behavior | Interference, loose receiver connection, damaged motor/ESC. | Check for radio interference, secure receiver connection, inspect motor/ESC for damage. |
| No power to receiver (BEC not working) | Faulty BEC circuit, short circuit in receiver/servos. | Disconnect servos one by one to isolate short, replace ESC if BEC is confirmed faulty. |
