Setup
1. Laser Tube Installation
The laser tube must be mounted securely and horizontally within your laser machine. Ensure adequate space for cooling connections and electrical wiring.

Water Cooling Connection:
Connect a closed-loop water cooling system to the laser tube. Water must flow from the cathode (negative electrode) end to the anode (positive electrode) end. Ensure a consistent flow rate and temperature (typically 15-25°C).

Electrical Connections (Laser Tube):
- Connect the high-voltage wire from the power supply to the anode (positive) terminal of the laser tube.
- Connect the cathode (negative) terminal of the laser tube to the power supply's return path, often through an ammeter for current monitoring.
- WARNING: High voltage connections must be insulated properly to prevent arcing and electrical shock.
2. Power Supply Installation (MYJG-40W)
Mount the MYJG-40W power supply in a well-ventilated area, away from moisture and excessive heat. Ensure it is securely fastened.

Voltage Selection:
Before connecting the power supply to mains electricity, verify and set the input voltage switch (110V/220V) to match your local power supply. This switch is typically located on the side of the unit.

Electrical Connections (Power Supply):
- Connect the AC input (L, N, G) to your mains power supply. Ensure proper grounding.
- Connect the high-voltage output (HV+) to the laser tube's anode.
- Connect the laser tube's cathode to the power supply's current return terminal (often marked 'mA' or 'GND').
- Connect control signals (TTL, PWM, current adjustment) from your laser controller to the power supply's control terminal block. Refer to your laser controller's manual for specific wiring diagrams.
Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Operation Checks
- Verify all electrical connections are secure and properly insulated.
- Ensure the water cooling system is running, and water is flowing through the laser tube without leaks. Check water temperature.
- Confirm the laser tube is securely mounted.
- Ensure all safety interlocks (if applicable) are engaged.
2. Powering On
- Turn on the water cooling system first.
- Turn on the main power to your laser machine.
- Activate the MYJG-40W power supply.
- Observe the ammeter (if installed) to ensure the laser current is within the recommended operating range (typically 15-20mA for 40W tubes).
3. Powering Off
- Turn off the laser power supply.
- Turn off the main power to your laser machine.
- Allow the water cooling system to run for a few minutes after laser operation to dissipate residual heat, then turn it off.
Maintenance
1. Laser Tube Cleaning
Periodically inspect the laser tube's output coupler (mirror) and input coupler (lens) for dust or debris. Clean gently with a lint-free cloth and optical cleaning solution if necessary. Avoid touching the optical surfaces directly.
2. Water Cooling System
- Regularly check the coolant level and replenish as needed.
- Change the coolant periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months) to prevent algae growth and mineral buildup. Use distilled water or a recommended coolant.
- Clean the cooling system's radiator and fan to ensure efficient heat dissipation.
3. Storage
CO2 laser tubes are consumable items. Prolonged storage may lead to power attenuation. It is recommended to purchase the laser tube when you are ready for installation and use. If storing, keep it in a cool, dry place, protected from physical shock and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No laser output | No water flow; Power supply fault; Loose connections; Laser tube damaged. | Check water pump and flow sensor; Verify power supply indicator lights; Inspect all wiring; Contact support if tube is suspected damaged. |
| Weak laser output | Dirty optics; Insufficient cooling; Over-current operation; Tube aging. | Clean laser tube optics; Check water temperature and flow; Ensure operating current is within specifications; Tube replacement may be necessary. |
| Power supply not turning on | Incorrect voltage selection; No input power; Internal fuse blown. | Verify 110V/220V switch setting; Check mains power and circuit breaker; Consult a qualified technician for internal inspection. |
