3.2. Power and Network Connection
- PoE Connection: If using Power over Ethernet, connect an Ethernet cable from a PoE-enabled switch or NVR to the camera's network port. This will provide both power and data.
- 12VDC Power: Alternatively, connect the included 12VDC power adapter to the camera's power input and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. Then, connect an Ethernet cable from your router/switch to the camera's network port for data.
- Wi-Fi Connection: For wireless operation, ensure the camera is powered on. You will configure the Wi-Fi connection using the mobile application (see Section 4).
Note: Do not connect both PoE and the 12VDC power adapter simultaneously. Choose one power method.
4. Mobile App Configuration (CamHi/CamHiPro)
The DIYSecuritycameraworld HX-MC28025MPA camera can be managed and viewed remotely using the CamHi or CamHiPro mobile application, available for Android and iOS devices.
- Download the App: Search for "CamHi" or "CamHiPro" in your device's app store (Google Play Store for Android, Apple App Store for iOS) and install it.
- Register/Login: Open the app and create an account or log in if you already have one.
- Add Camera:
- Ensure your camera is powered on and connected to your network (either via Ethernet or already configured Wi-Fi).
- In the app, tap the "+" icon or "Add Camera" option.
- Select "Add device by LAN search" if the camera is connected via Ethernet, or "Add device by Wi-Fi configuration" to set up Wi-Fi.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the camera addition process. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the camera (if available) or manually entering the camera's ID and password.
- Wi-Fi Setup (if not already connected): If you chose "Add device by Wi-Fi configuration," the app will guide you through connecting the camera to your wireless network. Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network you intend for the camera.
- Live View and Settings: Once added, you can access the live video feed, adjust settings, enable motion detection, configure recording to the SD card, and manage other camera functions through the app.
5. Operation
5.1. Recording to SD Card
The camera supports a TF/Micro SD card up to 128GB for local storage. To install, locate the SD card slot (refer to product diagrams if needed) and gently insert the card until it clicks into place. Format the SD card via the mobile app settings before first use. You can configure continuous recording, scheduled recording, or motion-triggered recording through the app.
5.2. Night Vision
The camera automatically switches to night vision mode in low-light conditions. The 48x 940nm infrared LEDs provide illumination up to 30 feet, allowing for clear black-and-white video capture without emitting a visible red glow.
5.3. Motion Detection
The integrated PIR motion sensor detects movement within its field of view. You can enable and configure motion detection sensitivity and alerts (e.g., push notifications, email alerts) through the mobile application. Motion-triggered recording can also be set up to save storage space.
6. Troubleshooting
- Camera not powering on:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and plugged into a working outlet, or that the PoE switch/NVR is providing power.
- Verify that only one power source (PoE or 12VDC adapter) is connected.
- Cannot connect to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. The camera does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Check the Wi-Fi password for accuracy.
- Move the camera closer to the Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength.
- Reset the camera using the reset button (refer to Figure 2) and try Wi-Fi configuration again.
- No video feed in app:
- Verify the camera has power and network connectivity.
- Ensure your mobile device has a stable internet connection.
- Check if the camera is properly added to the CamHi/CamHiPro app.
- SD card not recording:
- Ensure the SD card is correctly inserted and formatted within the app.
- Check recording settings in the app (e.g., continuous, motion-triggered).
- Verify the SD card is not full or corrupted. Try a different SD card if issues persist.
