Important Safety Information

• Oversize foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster as they may create a risk of fire or electric shock.
• A fire may occur if toasters are covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
• Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
• Do not operate unattended.

Setup

1. **Unpacking**: Carefully remove the toaster and all packaging materials. Retain packaging for future storage or transport if needed.
2. **Placement**: Place the toaster on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials such as curtains or walls. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.
3. **Initial Cleaning**: Before first use, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Ensure the crumb tray is properly inserted.
4. **Power Connection**: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

General Toasting

1. **Insert Bread**: Place up to two slices of bread, bagels, or other items into the extra-wide slots. The 1.5-inch wide slots accommodate various bread types, including thick-cut bread, croissants, English muffins, and bagels.
2. **Select Browning Setting**: Turn the browning control dial to your desired setting, from 1 (lightest) to 6 (darkest). The unique LED display will show the selected browning setting and count down the remaining toasting time.
3. **Start Toasting**: Press down the toast lever until it locks into place. The toasting cycle will begin.
4. **Retrieve Toast**: Once the toasting cycle is complete, the toast will automatically pop up. Use the extra-high lift lever to manually raise the toast higher, making it easier to retrieve smaller items without burning your fingers.

Special Functions

The CUSIMAX Toaster features three dedicated function buttons, each indicated by a blue light when active:

• CANCEL: Press this button at any time to stop the toasting cycle and immediately pop up the toast.
• BAGEL: This function toasts the cut side of bagels while gently warming the outer side. Insert the bagel with the cut side facing inwards.
• DEFROST: Use this function to toast frozen bread. It automatically adjusts the toasting time to thaw and toast the bread without burning.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your toaster.

1. **Unplug and Cool**: Always unplug the toaster from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. **Empty Crumb Tray**: The removable crumb tray collects bread crumbs at the bottom of the toaster. Slide out the tray from the back or side of the toaster, discard crumbs, and wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth. Ensure it is dry before reinserting.
3. **Exterior Cleaning**: Wipe the exterior stainless steel surface with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn spots, a mild non-abrasive cleaner can be used. Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals.
4. **Interior Cleaning**: Do not attempt to clean the inside of the toaster with any tools or sharp objects. If food becomes lodged, unplug the toaster and carefully turn it upside down to dislodge the item.
