5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your LEVEL SENSE SENTRY, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
5.1. Device Not Powering On
- Check Power Connection: Ensure the power supply is securely plugged into the SENTRY unit and a working electrical outlet.
- Verify Outlet: Test the electrical outlet with another device to confirm it is functional.
5.2. No Wi-Fi Connection (CLOUD LED Off/Flashing)
- Router Proximity: Ensure the SENTRY device is within range of your Wi-Fi router. Thick walls or metal appliances can interfere with the signal.
- Wi-Fi Credentials: Double-check that the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password entered during setup are correct.
- Router Reboot: Try restarting your Wi-Fi router.
- Network Compatibility: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. The SENTRY may not be compatible with 5 GHz networks.
5.3. No Alerts Received
- Notification Settings: Verify your email addresses and phone numbers are correctly entered in the Level Sense app/web portal. Check spam/junk folders for emails.
- Thresholds: Confirm that your set temperature/humidity thresholds are appropriate and that the actual readings are exceeding them.
- Internet Connection: Ensure your SENTRY device has a stable internet connection (CLOUD LED should be solid).
- Cellular Carrier: For text notifications, ensure your cellular carrier supports EMAIL2Text Gateway (most do).
5.4. Inaccurate Temperature/Humidity Readings
- Sensor Placement: Ensure the sensor is not directly exposed to airflow from vents or placed too close to the appliance walls, which can affect readings.
- Sensor Damage: Inspect the sensor and its cable for any visible damage.
5.5. Alarm Sounds Continuously
- Check Conditions: Verify the temperature and humidity readings. If they are outside the set thresholds, address the underlying issue with your appliance.
- Silence Horn: Press the Horn Silence button on the device to temporarily mute the audible alarm.
- Reset: If the alarm persists after conditions normalize, try a soft reset of the device.
