3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your PGST Wireless Home Alarm System:

  1. Initial Power-up: Connect the main control panel to a power outlet using the provided adapter. The system will power on and display the main interface on its 4.3-inch IPS color screen.
  2. SIM Card Installation (Optional for GSM/4G): If you intend to use the GSM/4G function for SMS and call alerts, insert a compatible SIM card into the designated slot on the control panel. Ensure the SIM card's PIN code is disabled before insertion.
  3. Connecting to Wi-Fi: Navigate to the system settings on the touch screen. Select the Wi-Fi setup option and connect to your home Wi-Fi network. This enables app push notifications and remote control via smartphone.
  4. App Installation: Download and install the recommended mobile application (e.g., Tuya Smart or Smart Life) on your smartphone or tablet. Follow the in-app instructions to add and pair your alarm system.
  5. Pairing Sensors and Accessories: Access the 'Add Device' or 'Learn' mode on the control panel. Activate each wireless sensor (door/window sensor, PIR detector, remote control, RFID tag) according to its specific instructions to pair it with the main panel. The system supports up to 100 wireless devices.
  6. Zone Configuration: Assign each paired sensor to a specific defense zone (e.g., entry zone, indoor zone, perimeter zone, 24-hour zone). You can also customize zone names for clarity (e.g., 'Main Door', 'Living Room', 'Bedroom Window').
  7. Setting Up Alarm Numbers: Configure up to 5 groups of preset alarm call numbers and SMS alert numbers in the system settings. These numbers will receive notifications in case of an alarm.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the optimal performance and longevity of your PGST alarm system, consider the following maintenance aspects:

  • Battery Backup: The main control panel is equipped with a built-in 1000mAh lithium battery, providing backup power during outages. The system will issue a low battery alarm when the battery level is critical. Ensure the panel is regularly connected to power to keep the battery charged.
  • Sensor Battery Life: Wireless sensors operate on their own batteries. The system will notify you of low voltage from these sensors. Replace batteries promptly when indicated to maintain continuous protection. The average battery life for sensors is approximately 3 years, but this can vary based on usage and environmental factors.
  • Anti-Disassembly Alarm: The control panel and some sensors feature an anti-disassembly alarm function. If an attempt is made to tamper with or remove the device, an alarm will be triggered. Ensure these features are active in your settings.
  • Regular Cleaning: Gently clean the touch screen and sensor surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Firmware Updates: Check for any available firmware updates for the main control panel through the mobile application. Keeping the firmware updated ensures optimal performance and access to new features.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your PGST Wireless Home Alarm System, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • System Not Responding: Ensure the main control panel is properly powered and the backup battery is charged. If the screen is frozen, try restarting the device by disconnecting both power and battery, then reconnecting.
  • Sensors Not Connecting/Triggering:
    • Check the battery level of the sensor and replace if necessary.
    • Ensure the sensor is within the effective range of the main panel. Walls and obstacles can reduce signal strength.
    • Re-pair the sensor with the main control panel.
  • No SMS/Call Alerts:
    • Verify that the SIM card is correctly inserted and has an active plan with sufficient credit.
    • Ensure the SIM card's PIN code has been disabled.
    • Check the configured alarm numbers in the system settings.
    • Confirm that the GSM signal strength is adequate.
  • App Connectivity Issues:
    • Ensure the main control panel is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.
    • Verify your smartphone has an active internet connection.
    • Restart the mobile application or reinstall it if problems persist.
    • Check if the alarm panel's time and date are correctly synchronized.
  • False Alarms:
    • Review sensor placement to avoid triggering by pets, curtains, or direct sunlight (for PIR sensors).
    • Ensure door/window sensors are securely mounted and aligned.
    • Adjust sensitivity settings for PIR sensors if available.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact customer support for further assistance.
