3. Setup
3.1 Charging the Battery
Before first use, fully charge the 1500 mAh Lithium-ion battery. Connect the charger to a standard power outlet and then connect it to the battery. The charging indicator lights on the battery or charger will indicate the charging status. A full charge typically takes a few hours. For optimal battery life, recharge the electric drill battery every 3-6 months if it is not used frequently.
3.2 Installing/Removing the Battery
To install the battery, align the battery pack with the base of the drill handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place. To remove the battery, press the battery pack release button located on the side of the battery and slide the battery out.
3.3 Attaching Drill Bits/Screwdriver Bits
The drill features a 3/8 inch keyless ratcheting chuck. To insert a bit, twist the chuck counter-clockwise until the jaws are open wide enough to accept the bit. Insert the desired HSS4241 drill bit or CR-V screwdriver bit (with the 60mm magnetic extension bar if needed) into the chuck. Twist the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws firmly around the bit. Ensure the bit is centered and securely held before operation.

4. Operating the Drill Driver
4.1 Power and Speed Control
The 12V cordless drill delivers 20 N.m max torque and features variable 2-speed settings:
- Low Speed (0-400 rpm): Ideal for fastening applications and drilling into softer materials where more torque and control are needed.
- High Speed (0-1500 rpm): Suitable for drilling into harder materials and tasks requiring faster rotation.
Adjust the speed using the two-speed control switch located on top of the drill. The variable speed trigger allows for precise control over the drilling or driving speed; press lightly for slower speeds and more firmly for faster speeds.

4.2 Torque Adjustment
The drill features an 18+1 torque position clutch, allowing for precise torque adjustment. Rotate the torque adjustment collar to select the desired setting. Lower settings are for driving small screws or working with soft materials to prevent over-tightening or stripping. Higher settings are for driving larger screws or drilling into harder materials. The '+1' setting is for maximum drilling power.

4.3 Forward/Reverse Rotation
A forward/reverse rotation control switch is located above the trigger. Push the switch to the left for forward rotation (for drilling and driving screws) and to the right for reverse rotation (for removing screws or backing out bits). Center the switch to lock the trigger and prevent accidental operation.
4.4 LED Work Light
The integrated LED work light illuminates the work area when the trigger is pressed, improving visibility in dimly lit spaces. The light remains on for approximately ten seconds after the trigger is released.

5. Maintenance
5.1 General Cleaning
Regularly clean the drill driver and other tools with a dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Keep ventilation openings clear to prevent overheating.
5.2 Battery Care
Always store the battery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not store the battery completely discharged. As mentioned in Setup, recharge the battery every 3-6 months if not in regular use to prolong its lifespan.
5.3 Storage
Store the drill driver and all accessories in the provided 14-inch storage bag in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Ensure all components are clean and dry before storage.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your WORKPRO 12V Cordless Drill Driver, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Drill not turning on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly inserted. Check that the forward/reverse switch is not in the center (locked) position.
- Loss of power during operation: The battery may be low. Recharge the battery.
- Bit slipping in chuck: Ensure the chuck is tightened securely around the bit. The bit shank might be dirty or damaged.
- Overheating: Allow the tool to cool down. Ensure ventilation slots are not blocked. Avoid continuous heavy-duty use without breaks.
For persistent issues not resolved by these steps, please contact WORKPRO customer support.
