1. Important Safety Instructions
Always prioritize safety when operating welding equipment. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
- Electric Shock: Welding current can cause fatal electric shock. Ensure the machine is properly grounded. Do not touch live electrical parts. Wear dry welding gloves and protective clothing.
- Fumes and Gases: Welding produces fumes and gases that can be hazardous to health. Work in a well-ventilated area. Use an exhaust fan or fume extractor if necessary.
- Arc Rays: Arc rays can burn eyes and skin. Always wear a welding helmet with appropriate shade lenses and protective clothing. Protect bystanders with welding screens.
- Fire and Explosion: Welding sparks and hot metal can cause fires. Keep flammable materials away from the welding area. Have a fire extinguisher readily available.
- Hot Parts: Welded materials and machine parts can remain hot for a long time. Use insulated gloves and allow parts to cool before handling.
- Read the Manual: Thoroughly read and understand this entire manual before installation, operation, or maintenance.

- Connect the power cable to a suitable 230V AC power outlet. The machine is designed for 230 Volts.
4.2 Ground Clamp Connection
- Connect the ground clamp cable to the appropriate terminal on the front panel (usually the negative terminal for MIG/MMA, or positive for Lift TIG depending on polarity).
- Securely attach the ground clamp to the workpiece, ensuring good electrical contact.
4.3 Wire Spool Installation (MIG/Flux-cored)
- Open the side cover of the machine to access the wire feed mechanism.
- Place the wire spool (0.6/0.8/1.0 mm wire) onto the spool holder, ensuring it rotates freely.
- Thread the welding wire through the wire guide and into the wire feeding wheel mechanism.
- Close the pressure handle to engage the wire feeding wheels.
- Ensure the correct drive roller size matches your wire diameter. The machine includes 2 drive rollers.
4.4 Gas Connection (for Gas MIG Welding)
- Connect one end of the gas hose to the gas inlet on the back panel of the machine.
- Connect the other end of the gas hose to your shielding gas cylinder regulator.
- Ensure all connections are tight to prevent gas leaks.
4.5 Torch/Electrode Holder Connection
- For MIG Welding: Connect the MB15 welding torch to the central socket on the front panel.
- For MMA Welding: Connect the electrode holder to the positive output terminal and the ground clamp to the negative terminal.
- For Lift TIG Welding: Connect the TIG torch to the negative output terminal and the ground clamp to the positive terminal.
5. Operating Instructions
The HITBOX MIG250DP offers multiple welding processes. Select the appropriate mode and adjust parameters according to your welding task.
5.1 Powering On
- After completing all connections, turn the power switch on the back panel to the ON position.
- The digital display on the front panel will illuminate.
5.2 MIG Welding (Gas / Gasless Flux-cored)
This mode is suitable for welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Applicable wire diameters are 0.6mm, 0.8mm, and 1.0mm.
- Select the MIG mode using the control knob on the front panel. Choose between gas MIG (CO2, MIX) or gasless flux-cored (FLUX) depending on your setup.
- Adjust the welding voltage and wire speed using the dedicated control knobs. The digital display will show the current settings.
- The machine features a Pulse function, which consists of a starting current, maximum current, and end current. This helps in controlling heat input and achieving a clean weld bead, especially for aluminum.
- Perform a test weld on scrap material to fine-tune settings before welding your actual workpiece.
5.3 Lift TIG Welding
Lift TIG mode is ideal for precise welding of thinner materials. Applicable electrode thickness is 1.2mm to 6mm.
- Select the LIFT TIG mode on the control panel.
- Connect the TIG torch and ground clamp as described in Section 4.5.
- Adjust the welding current according to the material thickness and electrode size (1.6mm-3.2mm).
- To initiate the arc, gently touch the tungsten electrode to the workpiece and then lift it slightly. The arc will start without high-frequency interference.
5.4 MMA / ARC Welding
MMA (Manual Metal Arc) or Stick welding is suitable for a wide range of applications and materials. Applicable electrode thickness is 2mm to 12mm.
- Select the MMA mode on the control panel.
- Connect the electrode holder and ground clamp as described in Section 4.5.
- Insert the appropriate electrode (1.6mm-3.2mm) into the electrode holder.
- Adjust the welding current based on the electrode type and diameter, and the material thickness.
- Strike the arc by lightly scratching the electrode against the workpiece.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your welding machine.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the machine's exterior with a dry cloth. Use compressed air to blow out dust from the internal components, especially the cooling fan and vents, to prevent overheating. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.
- Cable and Connection Inspection: Regularly inspect all welding cables, torch, electrode holder, and ground clamp for damage, fraying, or loose connections. Replace damaged parts immediately.
- Wire Feed Mechanism: Keep the wire feed rollers clean and free from debris. Ensure the drive rollers match the wire diameter being used. Check the torch liner for blockages or wear.
- Storage: Store the welding machine in a clean, dry environment, away from excessive dust, moisture, and corrosive materials.
