1. Introduction

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Cleaning

1. Remove all packaging and protective films.
2. Wash the water tank, drip tray, cup support, and detachable milk frother with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. Place the machine on a clean, stable surface.

4.2 Filling the Water Tank

1. Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water.
2. Place the water tank back onto the machine.

4.3 First Use / Rinsing

1. Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet.
2. Place a container (at least 1 liter) under the coffee outlet.
3. Press any coffee button to start the rinsing cycle. The machine will pump water through the system. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
4. The machine is now ready for use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Brewing Coffee (Espresso & Lungo)

1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
2. Lift the lever and insert a Nespresso OriginalLine capsule. Close the lever.
3. Place a cup under the coffee outlet.
4. Press the desired coffee button (Espresso or Lungo) on the control panel.
5. The machine will automatically stop when the brewing is complete.
6. Lift the lever to eject the used capsule into the container.

5.2 Preparing Milk-Based Recipes

The Nespresso Atelier S85 features a detachable milk frother for hot and cold milk recipes.

1. Ensure the milk frother is correctly attached to the machine.
2. Pour fresh milk (dairy or plant-based alternatives) directly into your cup.
3. Place the cup with milk under the milk frother outlet.
4. Insert a Nespresso capsule and close the lever.
5. Select your desired milk-based recipe button (e.g., Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Iced Frappé, Mocha, Hot Foam, Cold Foam).
6. The machine will automatically froth the milk and then brew the coffee into your cup.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

6.1 Daily Cleaning

• Milk Frother: The detachable milk frother should be cleaned after each milk preparation. It is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
• Drip Tray & Used Capsule Container: Empty and rinse daily.
• Water Tank: Rinse daily and refill with fresh water.

6.2 Descaling
