1. Introduction

2. Package Contents

3. Safety Information

Please observe the following safety precautions:

  • Use only the provided power adapter and batteries.
  • Do not expose the phone to water or excessive humidity.
  • Avoid placing the phone near heat sources or direct sunlight.
  • Keep the phone out of reach of children.
  • Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself. Refer to qualified service personnel.

4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
  2. Slide the cover downwards to open it.
  3. Insert the two AAA rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover, sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

4.2. Connecting the Base Station

  1. Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the phone jack on the wall.
  2. Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to the port labeled LINE on the bottom of the charging base.
  3. Plug the small end of the power adapter into the port labeled POWER on the bottom of the charging base.
  4. Plug the large end of the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.

4.3. Charging the Handset

Place the handset on the charging base. Ensure it is seated correctly. The display will indicate charging. For optimal battery performance, charge the handset for at least 12-15 hours before initial use, even if the display shows a full battery.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Basic Functions

  • Power On/Off: The handset powers on automatically when placed on the base or when a button is pressed. To power off, press and hold the C/R button.
  • Making a Call: Press the Green Call button, then dial the number. Alternatively, dial the number first, then press the Green Call button.
  • Receiving a Call: When the phone rings, press the Green Call button to answer.
  • Ending a Call: Press the Red End Call button or place the handset back on the charging base.

5.2. Keypad and Display

  • Display: The clear, backlit LCD shows caller ID (name and number), battery status, signal strength, and menu options.
  • Navigation Keys: Use the up/down arrow keys (often integrated with the OK button) to navigate menus and adjust volume during a call.
  • OK Button: Confirms selections in menus.
  • C/R Button: Clears input, cancels operations, or ends a call.
  • Phonebook Button (Book icon): Accesses the phonebook.
  • Redial Button (Arrow icon): Accesses the list of recently dialed numbers.
  • Hands-Free Button (Speaker icon): Activates or deactivates the speakerphone function during a call.

5.3. Phonebook

The phonebook can store up to 50 contacts.

  1. Press the Phonebook button.
  2. Use the up/down arrow keys to navigate through entries or select 'Add New'.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to enter a name and number.
  4. Press OK to save.

5.4. Redial Function

The phone stores the last five dialed numbers.

  1. Press the Redial button.
  2. Use the up/down arrow keys to select the desired number.
  3. Press the Green Call button to redial.

5.5. Hands-Free Calling

During a call, press the Hands-Free button to activate the speakerphone. Press it again to switch back to the earpiece.

5.6. Volume Adjustment

During a call, use the up/down arrow keys to adjust the earpiece or speakerphone volume.

5.7. Multi-Handset Features (if applicable)

The Profoon PDX-300BW is expandable up to 5 handsets. If you have multiple handsets registered to the same base station, you can use the following features:

  • Internal Calls: Call other registered handsets.
  • Call Transfer: Transfer an external call to another handset.
  • Conference Call: Conduct a three-way conversation (one external, two internal handsets).

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the phone and base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
