1. Introduction

The DGODRT 4-Port VGA KVM Switch allows you to control up to four computers or laptops using a single VGA monitor, keyboard, mouse, and other USB 2.0 devices. 4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to connect your DGODRT 4-Port VGA KVM Switch:

1. Power Off Devices: Ensure all computers and the monitor are powered off before making any connections.
2. Connect Monitor: Connect your VGA monitor to the 'Output' VGA port on the KVM switch.
3. Connect Peripherals: Plug your USB keyboard, USB mouse, and any other USB 2.0 devices (e.g., printer, scanner) into the 'USB 1', 'USB 2', and 'USB 3' ports on the front of the KVM switch.
4. Connect Computers: Use the provided 2-in-1 KVM USB cables to connect each computer to the KVM switch. Each cable has a VGA connector and a USB connector. Connect the VGA end to a VGA output port on your computer and the USB end to a USB port on the same computer. Then, connect the other end of the 2-in-1 cable to the corresponding 'PC 1', 'PC 2', 'PC 3', or 'PC 4' input on the KVM switch.
5. Connect Wired Remote (Optional): If desired, plug the wired desktop controller into the 'Key Connection' port on the KVM switch. This allows for remote switching.
6. Power On: Power on the KVM switch (if applicable, though it's typically bus-powered) and then power on your computers and monitor.

5. Operating Instructions

The DGODRT 4-Port VGA KVM Switch offers two convenient methods for switching between connected computers:

5.1. Front Panel Button Switching

Press the numbered buttons on the front panel of the KVM switch (1, 2, 3, or 4) to select the corresponding computer. An LED indicator will illuminate next to the selected port, showing which computer is currently active.

5.2. Wired Desktop Controller Switching

The included wired desktop controller provides a flexible way to switch computers without needing to reach the KVM unit itself. Simply press the desired numbered button (1, 2, 3, or 4) on the remote to switch to that computer. The remote also has an LED indicator to show the active port.

• No Display/Flickering Screen:
  • Ensure all VGA cables are securely connected to both the KVM switch and the computers/monitor.
  • Verify that the monitor is powered on and set to the correct input source.
  • Try restarting the connected computers and the KVM switch.
  • Check if the resolution setting on your computer is supported by the KVM switch (up to 1920x1440).
• Keyboard/Mouse Not Responding:
  • Ensure USB cables from computers to the KVM switch are properly connected.
  • Verify that the keyboard and mouse are plugged into the correct USB ports on the KVM switch.
  • Try unplugging and re-plugging the keyboard/mouse from the KVM switch.
  • Note: It is not recommended to use illuminated mechanical keyboards due to potential power overload. If experiencing issues with such a keyboard, try a standard keyboard.
• Switching Issues:
  • Ensure the wired desktop controller is securely plugged into the KVM switch.
  • Press the desired port button firmly on either the KVM unit or the remote.
• General Connectivity Problems:
  • Ensure all cables are the original ones provided with the KVM switch, especially the 2-in-1 KVM USB cables.
  • If possible, test with different cables or peripherals to isolate the issue.
