Setup Instructions
- Unpack the Computer: Carefully remove the Dell OptiPlex 3040 Micro and all accessories from the packaging.
- Connect Peripherals:
- Connect your monitor(s) to the DisplayPort and/or HDMI port(s) on the rear of the computer (refer to Figure 2 and 3).
- Connect your keyboard and mouse to the available USB ports (front or rear).
- If using wired network, connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 network port (refer to Figure 2 and 3).
- Connect speakers or headphones to the universal audio jack or line-out port on the front panel (refer to Figure 2).
- Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the power adapter port on the rear of the computer, then plug the power cable into a wall outlet.
- Initial Boot: Press the power button on the front of the computer (refer to Figure 1 and 2). The computer will boot into Windows 10 Pro. Follow the on-screen instructions for initial setup, including language, region, and user account creation.
Operating Instructions
- Power On/Off: Press the power button to turn the computer on. To shut down, click the Start button in Windows, then select Power > Shut down.
- Windows 10 Pro: Your computer comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Pro. Familiarize yourself with the operating system interface for optimal use.
- Connectivity:
- Wi-Fi: Connect to wireless networks through the Windows network settings.
- Bluetooth: Pair Bluetooth devices via Windows settings.
- USB Ports: Use the USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports for high-speed data transfer with compatible devices.
- Display Output: The computer supports dual displays via its DisplayPort and HDMI outputs.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the computer. Avoid liquid cleaners directly on components. Ensure ventilation grilles are free from dust.
