- Turn the crown (B) clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the desired time.
- Push the crown (B) back into position 1. The second hand will resume movement.
Setting the Date

- Turn the crown (B) clockwise to advance the date.
- Once the correct date is displayed, push the crown (B) back into position 1.
Note: Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this may interfere with the date change mechanism. If you need to set the date during this period, first set the time outside this window, adjust the date, then reset the time.
Operating the Chronograph
The chronograph function allows for precise measurement of elapsed time.
Chronograph Functions:
- Pusher A: Start/Stop the chronograph.
- Pusher C: Reset the chronograph.
Using the Chronograph:
- To start timing, press pusher A. The chronograph second hand will begin to move.
- To stop timing, press pusher A again. The chronograph hands will display the elapsed time.
- To reset the chronograph hands to zero, press pusher C. This can only be done when the chronograph is stopped.
Reading the Tachymeter
The tachymeter scale on the bezel can be used to measure speed over a known distance (e.g., 1 kilometer or 1 mile). Start the chronograph at the beginning of the distance and stop it at the end. The number on the tachymeter scale corresponding to the chronograph second hand's position indicates the average speed in units per hour.
Strap Replacement
Your Tissot PRS 516 watch comes with an interchangeable quick-release bracelet and an additional brown leather strap. This design allows for easy strap changes without special tools.

Steps to Change the Strap:
- Locate the small lever or pin on the underside of the strap where it connects to the watch case.
- Gently slide the lever inwards to retract the spring bar.
- Carefully detach the strap from the watch case.
- To attach a new strap, align one end of the spring bar with the lug hole on the watch case.
- Slide the quick-release lever inwards, position the other end of the spring bar into the opposite lug hole, and release the lever.
- Gently tug on the strap to ensure it is securely fastened before wearing.
Maintenance
Cleaning Your Watch
Regular cleaning helps maintain the appearance and longevity of your watch.
- For the stainless steel case and bracelet, use a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry with a soft cloth.
- For the leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals. Clean with a dry, soft cloth.
- Ensure the crown is pushed in completely before cleaning to maintain water resistance.
Battery Replacement
As a quartz watch, your Tissot PRS 516 is powered by a battery. The battery life typically ranges from 2 to 5 years, depending on usage. When the battery is low, the second hand may jump every four seconds (End-of-Life indicator). It is recommended to have the battery replaced by an authorized Tissot service center to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
General Care
- Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures or sudden temperature changes.
- Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields, which can affect the accuracy of quartz movements.
- Protect your watch from impacts and drops.
Water Resistance Guidelines
Your Tissot PRS 516 watch is water-resistant up to 10 bar (100 meters / 330 feet). This rating indicates that the watch is suitable for:
- Everyday use.
- Showering.
- Recreational swimming.
Important Considerations:
- Do not operate the crown or pushers when the watch is wet or submerged in water.
- Water resistance is not a permanent feature and may decrease over time due to aging of gaskets or accidental impacts. It is recommended to have the water resistance checked periodically by an authorized service center.
- Avoid exposing the leather strap to water, as this can damage the material.
Troubleshooting
Watch Not Running
- Check Battery: If the watch is a quartz model and has stopped, the battery may need replacement. Look for the End-of-Life (EOL) indicator (second hand jumping every four seconds).
- Crown Position: Ensure the crown is fully pushed into position 1.
Chronograph Hands Not Resetting to Zero
- This may require a chronograph hand adjustment. Consult an authorized service center or refer to specific movement instructions if available.
Date Not Changing Correctly
- Ensure the date was not set during the restricted period (9 PM - 3 AM). If so, reset the time and date outside this window.
