2. Features

  • 2.4G Wireless Receiver Function: Capable of receiving DMX signals from compatible wireless transmitters. This signal is then amplified and distributed alongside any wired input to the 8 DMX output ports.

4. Setup

4.1 Physical Placement

Place the DMX splitter on a stable, flat surface or mount it securely using appropriate hardware. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

4.2 Connecting the Power

  1. Connect the provided 9V DC power adapter to the power input port on the splitter.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet. The power indicator LED on the unit should illuminate.

4.3 DMX Connections

The splitter features 3-pin XLR connectors for DMX input and output.

  1. DMX Input: Connect your DMX controller's output to the DMX IN (male XLR) port on the splitter.
  2. DMX Thru: If you need to daisy-chain the DMX signal to another device before splitting, connect it to the DMX THRU (female XLR) port. This port provides an unprocessed copy of the input signal.
  3. DMX Outputs: Connect your DMX-controlled lighting fixtures or other DMX devices to the DMX OUT 1-8 (female XLR) ports. Each output is isolated.

4.4 Wireless Antenna Installation

Screw the detachable 2.4G antenna onto the designated antenna connector on the splitter. Ensure it is securely fastened for optimal wireless signal reception.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

Use the power switch located on the unit to turn the device on or off. The power LED will indicate the unit's status.

5.2 Wired DMX Operation

  1. Ensure your DMX controller is sending a signal to the DMX IN port.
  2. The signal indicator LEDs on the splitter will illuminate, showing DMX signal presence.
  3. The DMX signal will be distributed to all 8 DMX OUT ports.

5.3 Wireless DMX Operation

The splitter can receive DMX signals wirelessly from a compatible 2.4G DMX transmitter (sold separately).

  1. Ensure the detachable antenna is securely connected.
  2. Power on the DMX splitter.
  3. Power on your 2.4G DMX transmitter and set it to the desired channel.
  4. The splitter will automatically detect and pair with the transmitter on the same channel. The signal indicator LEDs will show wireless DMX signal reception.
  5. The received wireless DMX signal will be amplified and distributed to all 8 DMX OUT ports.

Note: When both wired and wireless DMX signals are present, the splitter will process both, amplifying and distributing them to the outputs. If you experience signal conflicts, ensure only one DMX source (wired or wireless) is actively transmitting to the splitter at a time, or manage your DMX universe assignments appropriately.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings are not blocked to prevent overheating.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect DMX cables and the power adapter for any signs of wear or damage. Replace damaged cables immediately.
