4. Setup and Installation
Installation of the Moen Essie Smart Faucet is designed to be straightforward. Follow these steps carefully:
- Prepare the Sink: Turn off the hot and cold water supply valves under the sink. Remove your old faucet. Clean the sink surface thoroughly.
- Install the Faucet: Place the faucet body through the sink hole. If your sink has multiple holes, use the included deck plate. Secure the faucet from underneath the sink using the provided mounting hardware.
- Connect Water Lines: Attach the flexible supply lines from the faucet to your hot and cold water supply valves. Ensure connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- Install Control Box: Mount the control box in an accessible location under the sink. Insert the 6 D batteries into the control box.

- Test Functionality: Slowly turn on the hot and cold water supply valves. Check for leaks. Test the faucet's manual operation, then proceed to test the smart features.
5. Operating Instructions
Your Moen Essie Smart Faucet offers multiple ways to control water flow:
5.1. Manual Operation
Use the single handle to control water flow and temperature. Lift the handle for water flow, and move it left for hot water or right for cold water.

5.2. Touchless Sensor Operation
Wave your hand over the sensor located at the front of the faucet to turn water on or off. The water will flow at the temperature set by the manual handle.

5.3. Voice Control
Connect your faucet to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for hands-free voice commands. Examples include:
- "Alexa, turn on the kitchen faucet."

5.4. Moen Smart Water App Control

5.5. Pull-Down Sprayer and Power Boost
The faucet features a pull-down sprayer with two spray modes: stream and Power Boost. Press the button on the sprayer head to switch between modes. The Power Boost function provides 50% more spray power for efficient cleaning.

6. Maintenance
