3. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the controls and safety features before operating the lawn mower.

3.1 Starting the Engine

  1. Ensure the spark plug cap is securely attached.
  2. Press the primer bulb (if equipped) several times until fuel is visible.
  3. Move the throttle lever to the "Start" or "Choke" position.
  4. Hold the engine brake lever against the handlebar.
  5. Pull the starter cord firmly and smoothly until the engine starts.
  6. Once started, move the throttle lever to the "Run" position.

3.3 Mowing Techniques

For best results, mow when the grass is dry. Overlap each pass slightly to ensure even cutting. Avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time. The mower supports three primary functions:

  • Mowing with Grass Catcher: Attach the 55L grass catcher to collect clippings. Monitor the fill level indicator.
  • Mulching: Insert the mulching plug (if included) and remove the grass catcher. This finely chops clippings and returns them to the lawn as natural fertilizer.
  • Side Discharge: Attach the side discharge chute and remove the grass catcher. This is ideal for taller grass where collection is not desired.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your lawn mower. Always disconnect the spark plug cap before performing any maintenance.

4.1 Cleaning the Mower Deck

The mower features an "Easy Clean" function. Connect a garden hose to the water connection point on the mower deck. Start the engine briefly (ensure the blade is spinning) to allow water to clean the underside of the deck. Turn off the engine and disconnect the hose once clean.

4.2 Blade Care

Inspect the cutting blade regularly for sharpness and damage. A dull blade tears grass, leading to an unhealthy lawn. Sharpen or replace the blade as needed. Always wear heavy-duty gloves when handling the blade.

4.3 Engine Maintenance

  • Oil Change: Change engine oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then every 25 hours or annually.
  • Air Filter: Clean or replace the air filter regularly, especially in dusty conditions.
  • Spark Plug: Inspect and clean the spark plug annually. Replace if worn.

4.4 Storage

Before storing for extended periods, drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Clean the mower thoroughly. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. The foldable handle allows for compact storage.
