3. Setup: Code Matching (Binding)
This section outlines the procedure for binding (code matching) your WFLY RF209S receiver with a compatible WFLY ET series transmitter. The ET12 transmitter is used as an example.
3.1 Precautions for Code Matching
- Ensure the transmitter and receiver are within 1 meter of each other during the binding process.
- The transmitter must not be in simulator or student mode (e.g., [System Setting] > [Trainer]) during binding.
- Confirm that no other WFLY 2.4GHz systems are actively performing a binding process nearby.
- If you need to exit the linking process, click the "Cancel" button on the transmitter or press the Back button.
- After successful linking, a connection verification will be performed automatically.
- Disabling the Telemetry function may affect the use of features such as "Range check!", "Low battery!", and "BUS Servo Setting".
3.2 Situations to Avoid During Code Matching
Do not attempt to bind the receiver under the following conditions:
- When other WFLY users are operating their RC systems nearby.
- DANGER: Do not connect the power equipment or operate the motor/engine during binding. Always remove the propeller and ensure safety before connecting power.
- In electromagnetically complex environments, such as near transformers, high voltage wires, routers, or communication base stations.
3.3 Link Steps (Default Working Mode A)
- On your transmitter, navigate to the menu [Linkage Setting], then select [Link], and set it to standby mode.
- Connect power to the receiver. Press and hold the SET button on the receiver for 3 seconds. The receiver's LED light will flash orange.
- On the transmitter, ensure the Telemetry function is enabled (default setting). Click the "Start" button. The transmitter's RF light will flash.
- Verify the link:
- If the link is successful, the receiver's LED light will turn solid green.
- Connect a servo to the receiver. Operate the corresponding control on the transmitter. If the servo moves synchronously, the link is successful.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Transmitter Interface Functions
- Telemetry: This function provides data return from the receiver, which is crucial for function judgment and data analysis. Disabling telemetry can affect the safety functions of your RC system. It is recommended to keep this function enabled.
- Mode: This setting allows selection of the receiver's working mode. The default is Mode A. Refer to the "Receiver Working Mode" table below for channel assignments. These configurations can be customized further through the [Function] menu on your transmitter.
4.2 Receiver Working Mode
The following table illustrates the channel assignments for the receiver in different working modes.
| Receiver Slot | Channel User Defined (Model A) | Channel User Defined (Model B) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | 7 |
| 2 | 2 | 8 |
| 3 | 3 | 3 |
| 4 | 4 | 9 |
| 5 | 5 | 10 |
| 6 | 6 | 11 |
| 7 | 7 | 12 |
| 8 | W.BUS/PPM | W.BUS/PPM |
| 9 | W.BUS2 | W.BUS2 |

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and reliable performance of your WFLY RF209S receiver, follow these general maintenance guidelines:
- Keep the receiver clean and free from dust, dirt, and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Avoid exposing the receiver to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Regularly inspect antenna wires for any signs of damage or fraying. Ensure they are securely connected.
- Store the receiver in a safe, dry place when not in use, away from strong electromagnetic fields.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your WFLY RF209S receiver, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Link/Binding Failure:
- Ensure the transmitter and receiver are within 1 meter during binding.
- Verify that the transmitter is not in simulator or student mode.
- Check for other active 2.4GHz systems nearby that might cause interference.
- Confirm the receiver's SET button was pressed for the correct duration (3 seconds) and the LED is flashing orange.
- Loss of Signal/Short Range:
- Inspect antennas for damage or improper placement. Ensure they are positioned for optimal signal reception.
- Check the battery voltage of both the transmitter and receiver. Low voltage can affect range.
- Avoid operating in areas with significant electromagnetic interference (e.g., power lines, Wi-Fi routers).
- Incorrect Servo Response:
- Ensure servos are correctly plugged into the appropriate receiver channels.
- Verify the transmitter's channel assignments and mixing settings.
- Check the receiver's working mode (Model A/B) and ensure it matches your transmitter's configuration.
