Setup
Attaching the Auxiliary Handle
- The auxiliary handle can be screwed into one of the three threaded holes on the gear housing, depending on the application and user preference.
- Ensure the handle is tightened securely before use.
Installing/Changing Grinding or Cutting Discs
- Disconnect the tool from the power supply.
- Press and hold the spindle lock button to prevent the spindle from rotating.
- Use the provided spanner wrench to loosen and remove the outer flange nut.
- Place the desired grinding or cutting disc onto the spindle, ensuring it sits correctly on the inner flange. The disc should be compatible with the tool's specifications.
- Reattach the outer flange nut and tighten it securely with the spanner wrench while holding the spindle lock button.
- Ensure the disc guard is properly positioned to offer maximum protection. Adjust if necessary.
Operating Instructions
Starting and Stopping
- To start the tool, slide the On/Off switch forward. For continuous operation, push the switch further forward until it locks into place.
- To stop the tool, release the switch. If locked, press the rear part of the switch to release it.
Grinding and Cutting
- Always hold the angle grinder firmly with both hands, using the main handle and the auxiliary handle.
- Allow the disc to reach full speed before contacting the workpiece.
- For grinding, apply light, even pressure and move the tool smoothly across the surface. Avoid excessive pressure, which can damage the disc and motor.
- For cutting, use a cutting disc and make shallow passes, gradually increasing the depth. Do not twist or bend the disc during cutting.
- Be aware of kickback, especially when cutting. Maintain a firm grip and proper body positioning.
- After use, switch off the tool and wait for the disc to stop completely before setting it down.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the ventilation slots of the tool to prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or compressed air. Do not use water or chemical cleaners.
- Carbon Brushes: The carbon brushes are wear parts. If the motor sparks excessively or the tool loses power, the brushes may need replacement. This should be done by a qualified technician.
- Power Cord: Inspect the power cord regularly for damage. If damaged, have it replaced by a qualified service agent to avoid electrical hazards.
- Storage: Store the tool in a dry, secure place out of reach of children.
