4. Setup and Assembly

4.1 Attaching the Auxiliary Handle

The auxiliary handle can be screwed into either side of the gear head for left or right-handed operation. Ensure it is tightened securely before use.

4.2 Installing the Wheel Guard

The wheel guard protects against sparks and debris. Position the guard so it covers the maximum possible area of the disc, facing away from the operator. Tighten the guard securely using the provided fasteners.

4.3 Mounting the Grinding/Cutting Disc

  1. Ensure the tool is unplugged from the power source.
  2. Press and hold the spindle lock button.
  3. Place the inner flange onto the spindle.
  4. Position the grinding or cutting disc onto the inner flange, ensuring it is centered.
  5. Screw the outer flange (nut) onto the spindle.
  6. Use the spanner wrench to tighten the outer flange securely. Release the spindle lock.
  7. Always use discs with the correct diameter (9 inches) and bore size for this model.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

  • To turn on: Slide the power switch forward. For continuous operation, press the front of the switch down.
  • To turn off: For continuous operation, press the rear of the switch to release it. For momentary operation, release the switch.

5.2 Grinding and Cutting Techniques

  • Always hold the grinder firmly with both hands.
  • Allow the disc to reach full speed before contacting the workpiece.
  • Apply moderate pressure. Excessive pressure can reduce disc life and motor efficiency.
  • For grinding, maintain an angle of approximately 15-30 degrees between the disc and the workpiece surface.
  • For cutting, hold the grinder perpendicular to the workpiece, ensuring the cutting line is straight.
  • Avoid sudden impacts or twisting the disc in the cut, which can cause kickback.

  • Cleaning: Keep the ventilation openings clean to prevent motor overheating. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris.
