Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your FIRMAN W01682F Inverter Generator. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the generator to ensure proper use and to prevent injury or damage.
Safety Information
Your safety and the safety of others are very important. We have provided important safety messages in this manual and on the generator. Always read and obey all safety messages.
- WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including carbon monoxide, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
- DANGER: Carbon monoxide gas is colorless, odorless, and can kill you. Never use the generator inside a home or garage, even if doors and windows are open. Use outdoors only and far away from windows, doors, and vents.
- NOTICE: To prevent vapor lock in the fuel tank, DO NOT turn fuel vent to OFF position until engine has cooled for at least 15 minutes.
- Always ensure proper ventilation when operating the generator.
Setup
Before starting your generator, ensure it is placed on a level surface and all initial setup procedures are followed.
1. Adding Engine Oil
Locate the oil fill cap. Ensure the generator is off and cool. Add the recommended engine oil (refer to specifications) to the appropriate level. Do not overfill.
2. Adding Fuel
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline. Open the fuel cap and carefully fill the tank. Do not overfill. Ensure the fuel cap is securely tightened after filling.
3. Grounding the Generator
For safety, it is recommended to ground the generator. Locate the ground bolt on the control panel. Connect a grounding wire from this bolt to a suitable ground rod driven into the earth.

Operating Instructions
1. Starting the Generator
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and all connections are secure.
- Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
- Move the choke lever to the CHOKE position (if the engine is cold).
- Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
- Pull the recoil starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the RUN position.
2. Eco Mode Operation
The Eco Mode switch allows the engine to automatically adjust its speed to match the load, reducing fuel consumption and noise levels when less power is required. Flip the ECO MODE switch to the ON position for this feature. For full power output, ensure Eco Mode is OFF.
3. Connecting Devices
The generator features multiple output options:
- L5-30R 30A 120V Outlet: For higher power demands, such as RVs or transfer switches.
- 5-20R 20A 120V Outlets: Standard household outlets for general use.
- USB 5VDC 2.1A Port: For charging small electronic devices.

4. Parallel Operation
This generator supports parallel operation, allowing you to connect two compatible FIRMAN inverter generators to double your power output. Use the dedicated parallel ports and cables (TT-30R adaptor, parallel cables are included) for this function. Refer to the parallel kit's instruction manual for detailed setup.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your generator. Always ensure the generator is off and cool before performing any maintenance.
- Oil Changes: Check engine oil level before each use. Change oil after the first 20 hours of operation, then every 100 hours or annually.
- Air Filter: Inspect and clean the air filter regularly. Replace if damaged.
- Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug annually or every 100 hours. Clean or replace as needed. (Refer to the image on the generator for visual guidance on spark plug maintenance).
- Fuel System: Drain the fuel system if storing the generator for an extended period to prevent fuel degradation.

Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter with your generator.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine will not start | No fuel, low oil, choke not set, engine switch off. | Add fuel, add oil, adjust choke, turn engine switch ON. |
| No power output | Overload, Eco Mode on with high load, faulty connection. | Reduce load, turn off Eco Mode, check connections. Reset circuit breaker if tripped. |
| Engine runs rough | Stale fuel, dirty air filter, fouled spark plug. | Drain old fuel and add fresh, clean air filter, clean/replace spark plug. |
If issues persist after following these steps, please contact Firman customer support.
