Manual Focus
The TTArtisan 17mm F1.4 is a manual focus lens. To achieve sharp focus:
- Set your camera to manual focus (MF) mode.

- Rotate the focus ring on the lens until your subject appears sharp. The lens can focus as close as 0.2 meters (0.7 feet).

Aperture Control
The lens features a clicked aperture ring, allowing you to adjust the aperture from f/1.4 to f/16. The clicked stops provide tactile feedback, enabling aperture changes without looking at the lens, which is particularly useful in low-light conditions.
- f/1.4: Maximum aperture for excellent low-light performance and shallow depth of field (bokeh).
- f/16: Minimum aperture for greater depth of field.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Lens
- Use a lens blower brush to remove dust and loose particles from the lens surfaces.
- For smudges or fingerprints, apply a small amount of lens cleaning solution to a clean microfiber cloth and gently wipe the lens in a circular motion.
- Avoid touching the lens elements directly with your fingers.
- Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals for cleaning.
Storage
- Always attach the front and rear lens caps when the lens is not in use.
- Store the lens in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If storing for extended periods, consider using a dehumidifying cabinet or silica gel packs to prevent mold growth.
Troubleshooting
- Lens not mounting correctly: Ensure the red alignment dots on the lens and camera body are matched, and rotate until a click is heard. Do not force.
- Images are blurry: Verify that the camera is set to manual focus (MF) mode. Use focus peaking or magnification assist to ensure accurate manual focusing. Check that the aperture is set appropriately for your desired depth of field.
- Vignetting (dark corners): While this lens is designed for APS-C sensors, some vignetting may occur, especially at wider apertures. This is often a characteristic of wide-angle lenses and can sometimes be corrected in post-processing. Ensure the lens is fully mounted.
- Aperture ring feels loose or unresponsive: The aperture ring has distinct clicks. If it feels unusually loose or does not change the aperture, contact customer support.
