2.3 Electrical Connection
Connect the appliance to a properly installed and earthed socket. The voltage (240 Volts) must match the rating on the appliance's data plate. Do not use extension cords or multiple sockets.
2.4 Initial Cleaning
Before first use, clean the interior and accessories with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Dry thoroughly.
2.5 Initial Power-On
After connecting to power, allow the freezer to run for at least 4 hours before loading with food. This allows the temperature to stabilize.
3. Operating Instructions
Your Bosch GSN36VLEP freezer is designed for efficient and convenient food storage.
3.1 Temperature Control
The temperature is controlled via the electronic panel located at the top of the appliance. Use the controls to set your desired freezing temperature. The recommended temperature for optimal food preservation is -18°C.

3.2 Super-Freezing Function
Activate the Super-Freezing function when adding a large quantity of fresh food to the freezer. This rapidly lowers the temperature to freeze items quickly, preserving their nutrients and texture. The function automatically deactivates after a set period or when the optimal temperature is reached.
3.3 NoFrost Technology
The NoFrost system prevents ice build-up inside the freezer, eliminating the need for manual defrosting. This technology circulates dry, cold air evenly throughout the compartment, ensuring consistent temperatures and preventing frost formation on food and interior surfaces.

3.4 VarioZone and BigBox Storage
Your freezer features VarioZone, allowing flexible arrangement of the interior. The glass shelves between the drawers can be removed to create larger storage spaces. The BigBox drawers are extra-deep for storing bulky items like whole poultry or large frozen pizzas.

3.5 Food Storage Guidelines
- Wrap food tightly or place in airtight containers to prevent freezer burn.
- Label food with the date of freezing.
- Do not place hot food directly into the freezer. Allow it to cool first.
- Avoid overloading the freezer, as this can hinder air circulation.
4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures your freezer operates efficiently.
4.1 Cleaning the Interior
Unplug the appliance before cleaning. Clean the interior regularly with a soft cloth, lukewarm water, and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not use steam cleaners or abrasive cleaning agents.
4.2 Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For stainless steel finishes, use a specialized stainless steel cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals.
4.3 Power Failure
In case of a power failure, the freezer can maintain the temperature for approximately 9 hours, provided the door remains closed. Avoid opening the door during a power outage to preserve the internal temperature.
5. Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer service, please check the following common issues:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Freezer not cooling | No power, thermostat set too high, door not closed properly, excessive food load. | Check power supply, adjust thermostat, ensure door is sealed, reduce food load. |
| Unusual noise | Appliance not level, objects touching the back, compressor noise. | Level the appliance, move objects away, compressor noise is normal. |
| Excessive frost (despite NoFrost) | Door left open too long, warm food placed inside, door seal damaged. | Ensure door is closed quickly, allow food to cool, check and clean door seal. |
