Installation

Tools Required: Screwdriver, wire strippers, drill, measuring tape, utility knife, safety glasses, gloves.

  1. Prepare the Opening: Ensure the ceiling has a 10.5-inch diameter rough opening. If replacing an existing fan, remove the old unit and clean the area. If creating a new opening, carefully mark and cut a 10.5-inch diameter hole in the ceiling, ensuring no structural elements or wiring are damaged.
  2. Disconnect Power: CRITICAL: Turn off the power to the circuit at the main electrical panel before proceeding with any wiring. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
  3. Connect Wiring: Bring the electrical supply wires into the fan's wiring compartment. Connect the house wiring to the fan's wires using appropriate wire nuts. Typically, connect black to black (hot), white to white (neutral), and bare copper or green to green (ground). Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
  4. Mount the Fan Housing: Carefully insert the fan housing into the 10.5-inch ceiling opening. Secure the fan housing to the ceiling joists or framing using the provided mounting screws. Ensure the unit is flush with the ceiling surface and securely fastened.
  5. Install Ductwork (if applicable): Connect the exhaust ductwork to the fan's vertical exhaust port. Ensure a tight seal to prevent air leakage.
  6. Install Light Lens: Once the fan is securely mounted and wired, attach the plastic light lens to the fan assembly. Gently press or twist the lens into place according to its design.
  7. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the main electrical panel. Test the fan and light functions.
