Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Waterdrop WD-WHF21-PG Whole House Water Filter System. This 5-stage filtration system is designed to effectively reduce large particles, sediments, chlorine, lead, benzene, mercury, and peculiar odors, thereby improving the overall taste and quality of water throughout your home.
Safety Information
- Working Temperature: Operate the system within 4°C to 38°C (40°F to 100°F). Do not use the product in an environment below 40°F (4°C) to prevent damage.
- Water Pressure: The system is designed to operate under a pressure range of 25-90psi. Ensure your household water pressure falls within this range for optimal performance and to prevent system damage.
- Installation: Always turn off the main water supply to your house before attempting any installation, maintenance, or filter replacement.
- Teflon Tape: When installing adapters, it is crucial to wrap the male thread with at least ten turns of Teflon tape. This prevents potential water leakage issues.
Product Overview
The Waterdrop WD-WHF21-PG system features a robust dual-stage filtration design. It utilizes a PP (Polypropylene) filter and a GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) filter in combination to provide comprehensive whole-house water purification, ensuring clean and fresh water from every tap.

Installation Guide
Before You Begin:
- Turn off the main water supply to your house.
- Open a nearby faucet to release any residual pressure in the water lines.
- Carefully measure and mark the section of the main water line where the filter system will be installed. Ensure sufficient space for future filter replacements.
Mounting the Filter Bracket:
- Select a sturdy location for installation, such as a wall stud or a reinforced beam, ensuring the system is easily accessible.
- Use the provided screws and anchors to securely mount the filter bracket. Verify that the bracket is level before tightening all screws.
Connecting the Plumbing:
The system features 1-inch inlet/outlet ports. You will need appropriate adapters (not included) for your specific plumbing setup (e.g., 1" MNPT to 1" PEX, or 3/4" MNPT to 3/4" PEX). The system is clearly marked with "IN" and "OUT" indicators to ensure correct water flow direction.
Important: When installing the adapters, kindly ensure to wrap the male thread with at least ten turns of Teflon tape to avoid any potential water leakage issues. Screw the adapters securely and straight into the system ports. Avoid overtightening.

Operation
Once the system is fully installed and all connections are secure, slowly turn on the main water supply. Allow the system to fill with water gradually. Check all connections for any signs of leaks. The system will immediately begin filtering water, providing a stable flow of clean water to all fixtures in your home.

Figure 4: The system delivers a stable water flow of 15 Gallons Per Minute (GPM), suitable for all household water needs including cooking, showering, washing, and laundry.
Maintenance: Filter Replacement
Regular filter replacement is essential to maintain optimal filtration performance and water quality. Adhere to the recommended replacement schedule:
- The GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) filter (Model: WD-W88A) should be replaced every six months.
- The PP (Polypropylene) filter (Model: WD-W89) should be replaced every 3-6 months, depending on your local water quality and usage.
Steps for Filter Replacement:
- Turn off the main water supply to the filter system.
- Press the red pressure release buttons located on top of the filter housings to relieve internal pressure.
- Use the provided filter wrench to unscrew the filter housings.
- Carefully remove the old filter cartridges and dispose of them according to local regulations.
- Clean the inside of the filter housings with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Insert the new filter cartridges, ensuring they are properly seated within the housings.
- Screw the filter housings back onto the system head. Use the filter wrench to tighten them securely, but do not overtighten.
- Slowly turn on the main water supply and check all connections for any leaks.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Water Leakage | Insufficient Teflon tape on threads, loose connections, or damaged O-rings. | Turn off water supply, re-apply Teflon tape (at least 10 turns) to male threads, tighten connections, or inspect/replace O-rings. |
| Reduced Water Flow | Clogged filter cartridges. | Replace filter cartridges. |
| Poor Water Quality (Odor/Taste) | Exhausted GAC filter. | Replace the GAC filter cartridge. |
