1. Introduction

The MAONO HD300T is a versatile dynamic microphone designed for high-quality audio capture. It features dual USB and XLR connectivity, allowing for flexible use with computers, audio interfaces, and mixers. This microphone is ideal for various applications including podcasting, recording, live streaming, vocal performances, and voice-overs. Its cardioid pickup pattern helps to minimize background noise, focusing on the sound source directly in front of the microphone.

3. Setup

3.1 Assembling the Microphone Stand

  1. Screw the adjustable riser onto the weighted metal base of the microphone stand. Ensure it is tightened securely.
  2. Attach the shock mount to the top of the adjustable riser. The shock mount is designed to hold the microphone and reduce vibrations.
  3. Insert the dynamic microphone into the shock mount. Ensure it is securely cradled by the elastic bands or clips of the shock mount.
  4. Attach the pop filter to the microphone stand using its integrated clamp or attachment rod. Position the pop filter approximately 1-2 inches in front of the microphone grille.

3.2 Connecting the Microphone

The HD300T offers dual connectivity options: USB and XLR.

The diagram above visually explains how to connect the microphone using either a USB cable to a computer or an XLR cable to a mixer/audio interface.

3.2.1 USB Connection

Connect the USB-C end of the provided USB cable to the USB-C port at the bottom of the microphone. Connect the USB-A end to an available USB port on your computer (PC or Mac). The computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. A blue indicator light on the microphone will illuminate when connected and powered.

3.2.2 XLR Connection

Connect one end of the provided XLR cable to the XLR port at the bottom of the microphone. Connect the other end of the XLR cable to an XLR input on your audio interface, mixer, or portable PA system. Note that the on/off switch and volume controls on the microphone are not active in XLR mode; audio adjustments must be made via your connected audio equipment.

4. Operating the Microphone

4.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control (USB Mode Only)

4.2 Zero-Latency Monitoring

The HD300T features a 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone jack at the bottom of the microphone for zero-latency monitoring. Plug your headphones into this jack to hear your audio in real-time without any delay or echo, which is crucial for accurate recording and performance.

4.3 Cardioid Pickup Pattern
