3.2 Connecting the Microphone
The HD300T offers dual connectivity options: USB and XLR.

The diagram above visually explains how to connect the microphone using either a USB cable to a computer or an XLR cable to a mixer/audio interface.
3.2.1 USB Connection
Connect the USB-C end of the provided USB cable to the USB-C port at the bottom of the microphone. Connect the USB-A end to an available USB port on your computer (PC or Mac). The computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. A blue indicator light on the microphone will illuminate when connected and powered.
3.2.2 XLR Connection
Connect one end of the provided XLR cable to the XLR port at the bottom of the microphone. Connect the other end of the XLR cable to an XLR input on your audio interface, mixer, or portable PA system. Note that the on/off switch and volume controls on the microphone are not active in XLR mode; audio adjustments must be made via your connected audio equipment.
This video provides a visual guide to unboxing the MAONO HD300T and assembling its components, including the microphone, stand, and pop filter.
4. Operating the Microphone
4.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control (USB Mode Only)

The image highlights the physical controls on the microphone body.
- On/Off Switch: Slide the switch to turn the microphone on or off. The indicator light will show its status.
- Volume Control: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the headphone monitoring volume. This feature is active only when the microphone is connected via USB.
4.2 Zero-Latency Monitoring
The HD300T features a 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone jack at the bottom of the microphone for zero-latency monitoring. Plug your headphones into this jack to hear your audio in real-time without any delay or echo, which is crucial for accurate recording and performance.

This image illustrates a user actively monitoring their audio output directly from the microphone, ensuring precise sound capture.
4.3 Cardioid Pickup Pattern
The microphone utilizes a cardioid pickup pattern, meaning it primarily captures sound from the front while rejecting sounds from the sides and rear. This helps to isolate your voice or instrument and minimize unwanted background noise.

The diagram visually represents how the microphone's cardioid pattern focuses on sound directly in front, reducing ambient noise.
This video demonstrates the unboxing process and includes a sound test of the MAONO HD300T, allowing users to hear its audio performance in both USB and XLR modes.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the microphone body and stand. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: When not in use, store the microphone in a dry, dust-free environment.
- Handling: The microphone features durable metal construction, but avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts to prevent damage.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Sound (USB Mode): Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the microphone and your computer. Check your computer's sound settings to confirm the MAONO HD300T is selected as the input device. Verify the microphone's on/off switch is in the 'On' position.
- No Sound (XLR Mode): Ensure the XLR cable is securely connected to both the microphone and your audio interface/mixer. Confirm that your audio interface/mixer is powered on and configured correctly. Remember that microphone controls are inactive in XLR mode.
- Feedback/Howling: Avoid positioning the microphone directly in front of speakers. Reduce the gain on your audio interface/mixer or computer settings. Ensure the microphone is not held by the grille, as this can cause feedback.
- Low Volume: In USB mode, use the '+' button on the microphone to increase headphone monitoring volume. Adjust input gain settings on your computer or audio interface/mixer.
