5. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the efficient operation of your portable air conditioner. This unit is designed for window installation.

Step-by-Step Installation:

1. Positioning the Unit: Place the air conditioner on a flat, stable surface near a window. Ensure there is at least 50 cm of clear space around the unit for proper air circulation.
2. Attaching the Exhaust Hose:
   • Screw one end of the exhaust hose onto the exhaust port on the back of the air conditioner.
   • Attach the window adapter to the other end of the exhaust hose.
3. Window Kit Installation:
   • Open the window and place the adjustable window slider kit into the window opening. Extend the slider to fit the window width/height and secure it.
   • Insert the window adapter of the exhaust hose into the opening of the window slider kit. Ensure a tight seal to prevent hot air from entering the room. Use the provided foam seals if necessary.
4. Drainage Setup (Dehumidification Mode):
   • For continuous drainage in dehumidification mode, connect the drain hose to the continuous drain port at the back of the unit.
   • Direct the other end of the drain hose into a suitable container or floor drain, ensuring it is lower than the unit's drain port for gravity flow.
5. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

Your CHiQ portable air conditioner can be operated using the control panel on the unit or the remote control.

Control Panel and Remote Control Functions:

Operating Modes:

• Cooling Mode: Select "Cool" mode. Set your desired temperature using the UP/DOWN buttons. The unit will cool the room to the set temperature.
• Fan (Ventilation) Mode: Select "Fan" mode. The unit will circulate air without cooling. Adjust fan speed as desired.
• Dehumidify Mode: Select "Dehumidify" mode. The unit will remove moisture from the air. Ensure the continuous drain hose is properly set up for this mode.
• Sleep Mode: Press the "Sleep" button. The unit will operate quietly and gradually increase the set temperature by 1°C after 1 hour, and another 1°C after 2 hours, maintaining this temperature for 6 hours before turning off.

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air conditioner.

Cleaning the Air Filter:

The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

1. Unplug the air conditioner from the power outlet.
2. Locate the air filter panel (usually at the back or side of the unit).
3. Remove the filter.
4. Clean the filter using a vacuum cleaner to remove dust, or wash it with warm water (below 40°C) and a mild detergent.
5. Rinse the filter thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reinserting it into the unit.

Draining Water:

The unit has an internal water collection tank. When it's full, the unit will stop operating and display an error code (e.g., "FL").

• Manual Drainage: Place a shallow pan or tray under the drain port at the bottom rear of the unit. Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out. Replace the plug once drained.
• Continuous Drainage: For continuous operation in high humidity or dehumidification mode, connect the provided drain hose to the continuous drain port and direct it to a floor drain or larger container.

Storage:

If storing the unit for an extended period:

• Drain all accumulated water completely.
• Clean the air filter.
• Unplug the power cord and coil it neatly.
• Store the unit in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
