  • This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in scalding injury. Ensure the unit is properly closed before operating.
  • Do not fill the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or dried vegetables, do not fill the unit over 1/2 full.

Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport if needed.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the pot, lid, and steaming basket with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry all parts completely. Ensure the sealing gasket is properly seated in the lid.
  3. Familiarization: Practice opening and closing the lid without food inside to understand the one-handed closure system. Ensure the lid clicks securely into place.
  4. Pressure Release Valve Check: Verify that the pressure release valve on the lid is clear and free of any obstructions.

Operating Instructions

1. Adding Ingredients

Place your ingredients into the pot. For pressure cooking, always add sufficient liquid as specified in your recipe. Do not exceed the maximum fill lines indicated inside the pot (2/3 full for most foods, 1/2 full for expanding foods like rice or beans).

2. Closing the Lid

Align the lid with the pot and use the one-handed closure system to securely lock it in place. You will hear an audible click when the lid is properly sealed. Ensure the cooking mode selector is set to the desired position before heating.

3. Selecting Cooking Mode

The Clipso Minut Duo offers two primary cooking modes via its selector:

  • Pressure Cooker Mode: For fast cooking under pressure (e.g., meats, stews, legumes).
  • Saucepan/Steam Mode: For traditional simmering or steaming without pressure (e.g., vegetables, fish, soups).

Rotate the cooking mode selector on the lid to choose your desired function.

4. Cooking Process

Place the pressure cooker on a suitable heat source (induction, gas, electric hob, or ceramic hob).

  • For Pressure Cooking: Heat on high until the pressure indicator rises and steam begins to escape from the valve. Reduce heat to maintain a steady pressure. Cook for the time specified in your recipe.
  • For Saucepan/Steam Mode: Heat as you would a regular pot. The lid will seal to retain heat and moisture, but pressure will not build up.

5. Releasing Pressure (Pressure Cooker Mode Only)

Once cooking is complete, there are two methods to release pressure:

  • Natural Release: Remove the cooker from heat and allow pressure to dissipate naturally. This is ideal for foods that benefit from continued cooking, like stews and meats. The pressure indicator will drop when pressure is fully released.
  • Quick Release: Carefully turn the pressure release valve to the "release" position. Steam will rapidly escape. Keep hands and face clear of the steam. Once the pressure indicator drops, all pressure has been released.

Only open the lid once the pressure indicator has fully dropped and no more steam is escaping.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your Tefal Clipso Minut Duo.

  • After Each Use:
    • Allow the cooker to cool completely before cleaning.
    • Wash the pot, lid, and gasket with warm, soapy water. The pot is dishwasher safe.
    • Ensure all parts of the lid, especially the pressure valve and safety mechanisms, are thoroughly cleaned to prevent blockages.
    • Rinse well and dry completely before storing.
  • Gasket Care: The sealing gasket should be inspected regularly for cracks or damage. Replace if necessary.
  • Storage: Store the pressure cooker in a dry place. It is recommended to store the lid inverted on the pot to allow air circulation and prevent odors.
