Setup

1. Chain and Bar Installation

Follow these steps to properly install the chain and bar on your pole saw.

  1. Ensure the battery is removed for safety.
  2. Loosen the knob on the side cover and remove the cover.
  3. Place the chain around the guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges face the correct direction.
  4. Fit the chain and bar onto the saw body, engaging the drive sprocket.
  5. Replace the side cover and tighten the knob, but not fully.
  6. Adjust the chain tension using the tensioning screw until the chain is snug but can still be pulled freely by hand.
  7. Fully tighten the knob to secure the side cover and chain bar.

2. Battery Charging

Charge the 20V 2.0Ah Lithium-Ion battery fully before first use and after each use to ensure optimal performance.

  • Connect the charger to a power outlet.
  • Insert the battery into the charger. The indicator light will show charging status.
  • Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.

Figure 2: Illustration of the automatic lubrication system, showing the oil reservoir being filled. This system ensures the chain and bar remain lubricated during operation.

  • Unscrew the oil cap and fill the reservoir with appropriate chain and bar oil (not included).
  • Do not overfill. Replace the cap securely.
  • Regularly check the oil level during operation and refill as needed.

Operating Instructions

1. Starting and Stopping the Saw

  • Insert a fully charged battery into the tool.
  • To start, press the safety switch and then squeeze the power trigger.
  • To stop, release the power trigger.

Figure 4: Visual representation of the 3-position pivoting head, illustrating how the cutting angle can be adjusted for various tasks.

  • Locate the angle adjustment mechanism near the saw head.
  • Press the release button or lever and adjust the head to 0°, 15°, or 30° as needed.
  • Ensure the head locks securely into place before operating.

4. Cutting Techniques

Always use proper cutting techniques to ensure safety and efficiency.

  • Start the saw before contacting the branch.
  • Allow the saw to reach full speed before beginning the cut.
  • Apply light, steady pressure. Do not force the saw through the wood.
  • Be aware of falling branches and clear the area below.
  • For larger branches, make an undercut first to prevent bark stripping.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your pole saw.

  • Chain Maintenance: Regularly check the chain for sharpness and tension. Sharpen or replace the chain as needed. A dull chain can cause kickback and reduce cutting efficiency.
  • Cleaning: After each use, remove the battery and clean the saw body, bar, and chain. Use a brush to remove sawdust and debris.
  • Lubrication: Ensure the automatic oiler reservoir is always filled with appropriate chain and bar oil.
  • Storage: Store the pole saw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Remove the battery before storage.
