3. Installation and Setup

Follow these steps carefully for proper installation. Always ensure all power sources are disconnected before making any connections.

3.1 Connection Sequence

WARNING: Always connect the battery first!

  1. Connect the Battery: Loosen the screws on the battery terminals. Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) battery cables to the corresponding terminals on the controller. Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Connect the Solar Panel (PV Array): Loosen the screws on the solar panel terminals. Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) solar panel cables to the corresponding terminals. Verify correct polarity.
  3. Connect the Load: Loosen the screws on the load terminals. Connect your DC load to the corresponding terminals.

Disconnection Sequence:

  1. Disconnect the Load.
  2. Disconnect the Solar Panel (PV array).
  3. Disconnect the Battery.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Setting Battery Type

The controller supports various battery types. It is crucial to set the correct battery type for optimal charging and battery longevity.

  1. Press the "ENTER" button and hold for 5 seconds under the battery voltage interface.
  2. Press the "SELECT" button when the battery type interface is flashing to cycle through options (Sealed, Gel/AGM, Flooded, Lithium, User).
  3. Press the "ENTER" button to confirm the selected battery type.

CAUTION: For "User" type, please refer to Chapter 3 of the full user manual for detailed battery control voltage settings.

4.2 Setting Load Working Mode

The controller offers different load working modes to suit various applications.

  1. Press the "ENTER" button and hold for 5 seconds under the load mode interface.
  2. Press the "SELECT" button when the load mode interface is flashing to cycle through options (e.g., 17 for Manual Mode, 0 for Light ON/OFF, 1-15 for Light On+Timer, 2n for Test Mode).
  3. Press the "ENTER" button to confirm the load mode.

CAUTION: Setting Light ON/OFF, Test mode, and Manual mode via Timer1 will disable Timer2 and display "2n".
