Operating Instructions
Cooking Rice
- Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of uncooked rice. One measuring cup holds approximately 3/4 U.S. Cup (180ml).
- Rinse Rice: Rinse the rice in a separate bowl until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.
- Add Rice and Water: Transfer the rinsed rice to the stainless steel inner pot. Add water to the corresponding line inside the inner pot based on the number of uncooked rice cups. For example, if you used 7 cups of uncooked rice, fill water to line 7.
- Place Pot: Ensure the exterior of the inner pot is dry, then place it into the rice cooker base.
- Secure Lid: Place the glass lid securely on the rice cooker.
- Plug In: Plug the power cord into a 120V AC electrical outlet. The "Warm" indicator light will illuminate.
- Start Cooking: Press the cook switch down. The "Cook" indicator light will illuminate, and cooking will begin.
- Automatic Keep Warm: Once the rice is cooked, the cooker will automatically switch to "Warm" mode. The "Cook" light will turn off, and the "Warm" light will illuminate. For best results, allow rice to rest on "Warm" for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Serve: Use the serving spatula to fluff and serve the rice.
This diagram illustrates the simple steps for cooking rice, from measuring and adding water to pressing the cook switch and achieving perfectly cooked rice.
This chart provides a guide for cooking white rice, detailing the amount of uncooked rice, the recommended water line in the inner pot, the approximate cooking time, and the expected cooked yield.
Steaming Food
The stainless steel steam tray allows you to steam vegetables, meats, or other foods while rice cooks below, or independently.
- Add Water: Add approximately 2-3 cups of water to the inner pot.
- Prepare Food: Place food to be steamed into the stainless steel steam tray.
- Assemble: Place the inner pot with water into the cooker base, then place the steam tray with food on top of the inner pot.
- Cover: Place the glass lid securely on the cooker.
- Start Steaming: Plug in the cooker and press the cook switch down. The "Cook" indicator light will illuminate.
- Monitor: Steam until food reaches desired doneness. Use caution when removing the lid to avoid steam burns.
- Keep Warm: If steaming alone, the cooker will switch to "Warm" when the water boils away. If steaming with rice, it will switch to "Warm" when the rice is done.
