4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to inflate your bicycle tire:

  1. Prepare the Pump:
    • Locate the fold-out handle on the pump.
    • Pull the handle out to its "DOWN" position, extending it for a better grip.
  2. Attach to Valve:
    • Ensure the pump head lever is in the "DOWN" (unlocked) position.
    • Press the pump head firmly onto the tire valve (either Schrader or Presta). The Smart Valve will automatically adapt.
    • Push the lever "UP" to lock the pump head onto the valve, creating a secure seal.
  3. Inflate Tire:
    • Begin pumping by moving the handle up and down in a steady motion.
    • Continue pumping until the desired tire pressure is reached, up to a maximum of 120 PSI. Refer to your tire's sidewall for recommended pressure.
  4. Remove Pump:
    • Once inflation is complete, push the lever "DOWN" to release the pump head from the valve.
    • Carefully remove the pump head from the tire valve.
    • Fold the handle back into its stored position.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Airblaster 350 FramePump:

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the pump exterior with a damp cloth to remove dirt and grime. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the pump in a dry environment when not in use. If mounted on the bike, ensure it is protected from excessive exposure to elements.
  • Check for Damage: Periodically inspect the pump for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage to the barrel, handle, or valve head.
  • Valve Head Inspection: Ensure the rubber seal inside the valve head is clean and free of debris to maintain a tight seal during inflation.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Airblaster 350 FramePump, consider the following:

  • Pump not building pressure:
    • Ensure the pump head is securely locked onto the tire valve. The lever must be in the "UP" position.
    • Check the rubber seal inside the pump head for debris or damage that might prevent a proper seal.
    • Verify that the tire valve itself is not faulty or stuck.
  • Difficulty attaching to Presta valve:
    • For Presta valves, ensure the valve stem nut is unscrewed before attaching the pump head.
    • Press the pump head firmly and squarely onto the valve before locking the lever.
  • Pump feels stiff or difficult to operate:
    • The internal piston may require lubrication. Consult the manufacturer's website for specific lubrication recommendations.
    • Ensure no foreign objects are obstructing the pump's barrel.
