Setup: Setting Your Combination
The OXFORD Lid Lock uses a 4-digit combination. Follow these steps to set your personal combination:
- Ensure the lock is set to the factory default combination, which is 0-0-0-0.
- Locate the red arrow or reset button on the side of the lock mechanism.
- With the lock open and set to 0-0-0-0, turn the red arrow 90 degrees clockwise until it clicks into place. This puts the lock in programming mode.
- Set your desired 4-digit combination by rotating the number dials. Choose a memorable but secure combination.
- Once your new combination is set, turn the red arrow back 90 degrees counter-clockwise to its original position. This will lock in your new combination.
- Scramble the dials to test your new combination. Ensure it opens only with your chosen code.
Important: Remember your combination. There is no master key or override function if the combination is forgotten.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and proper function of your OXFORD Lid Lock, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the lock body and cable with a damp cloth to remove dirt and grime. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish or internal mechanisms.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts of the carabiner and the combination dials to ensure smooth operation. Do not over-lubricate.
- Storage: Store the lock in a dry environment when not in use to prevent corrosion.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the coiled cable and carabiner for any signs of wear, damage, or fraying. If significant damage is observed, discontinue use and consider replacement.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your OXFORD Lid Lock, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Lock will not open with the correct combination:
- Ensure each number is precisely aligned with the indicator marks.
- Try rotating the dials slightly back and forth to ensure they are not stuck between numbers.
- Verify that you are using the correct combination. If you have recently reset it, ensure you are using the new code.
- Carabiner is stiff or difficult to open/close:
- Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the hinge and locking mechanism.
- Check for any debris or obstructions preventing smooth movement.
- Forgotten Combination:
- Unfortunately, if the combination is forgotten, there is no way to reset it without knowing the original code. The lock is designed for security and does not have a master key or backdoor.
- It is recommended to keep your combination in a secure, memorable location.
