5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Preparing the Case

  1. Place the case on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Remove the tempered glass side panel by unscrewing the thumbscrews at the rear of the case. Carefully set the panel aside on a soft, non-abrasive surface.
  3. Remove the opposite metal side panel to access the cable management area.

5.2 Motherboard Installation

The GC-705B supports ATX, Micro ATX, and Mini ITX motherboards.

  1. Install the I/O shield that came with your motherboard into the cutout at the rear of the case.
  2. Align the motherboard with the pre-installed standoffs. If your motherboard form factor requires different standoff positions, adjust them using the provided tools and screws from the accessory box.
  3. Carefully place the motherboard onto the standoffs.
  4. Secure the motherboard with the appropriate screws. Do not overtighten.

5.3 Graphics Card (GPU) Installation

The case supports graphics cards up to 370mm in length.

  1. Remove the necessary expansion slot covers at the rear of the case, corresponding to your GPU's size.
  2. Insert the graphics card into the appropriate PCIe slot on your motherboard.
  3. Secure the GPU to the case with screws.

5.4 Cooling System Installation

The case supports various fan configurations and water cooling solutions.

  • Front: Supports up to 3x 120mm fans.
  • Top: Supports up to 3x 120mm fans.
  • Rear: Supports 1x 120mm or 1x 140mm fan.
  • Install fans or radiators using the provided screws, ensuring proper airflow direction.

5.5 Storage Drive Installation

Refer to the case's internal structure for specific 2.5" SSD and 3.5" HDD mounting locations and use the appropriate screws from the accessory box.

5.6 Connecting Front Panel I/O

Connect the front panel cables (USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HD Audio, Power Switch, Reset Switch, Power LED, HDD LED) to the corresponding headers on your motherboard. Consult your motherboard manual for header locations.

6. Operating

After all components are installed and cables are connected, replace the side panels. Connect your peripherals, monitor, and power cable. Press the power button on the front panel to start your system. The case features RGB lighting, which can typically be controlled via your motherboard's software or a dedicated RGB controller (if included with your fans/components).

7. Maintenance

  • Dust Filters: The Redragon Megatron GC-705B includes magnetic dust filters on the top panel. Regularly remove and clean these filters with water and mild soap, or by vacuuming, to maintain optimal airflow and prevent dust buildup inside the case. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces of the case. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or tempered glass.
  • Interior Cleaning: Periodically, with the system powered off and unplugged, use compressed air to remove dust from internal components and fan blades.

8. Troubleshooting

  • System Not Powering On:
    • Check if the power supply is properly connected to the wall outlet and switched on.
    • Ensure all power cables (24-pin ATX, CPU, GPU, storage) are securely connected to the motherboard and components.
    • Verify that the front panel power switch cable is correctly connected to the motherboard's power header.
  • Fans Not Spinning/RGB Not Working:
    • Check fan power connections to the motherboard or fan controller.
    • Ensure RGB cables are properly connected to the motherboard's RGB header or a dedicated RGB controller.
