2. Safety Instructions
Always observe basic safety precautions when using electric tools to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury. Keep this manual handy for quick reference.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings:
- Work Area Safety: Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
- Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
- Personal Safety: Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, dust mask, and heavy-duty gloves.
- Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
- Service: Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Specific Angle Grinder Safety Warnings:
- Always use the auxiliary handle supplied with the tool. Loss of control can result in personal injury.
- Never use damaged or incorrect accessories. Ensure the accessory is rated for the tool's speed.
- Always ensure the guard is correctly fitted and adjusted for the operation being performed.
- Avoid kickback. Always hold the tool firmly with both hands.

5. Operating Instructions
Always wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) before operating the angle grinder.

- To turn on the tool, slide the power switch forward to the "ON" position.
- To turn off the tool, slide the power switch backward to the "OFF" position.
- Allow the disc to reach full speed before beginning work.
5.2 Grinding and Cutting Techniques
- General Grinding: Hold the grinder firmly with both hands. Apply light, even pressure to the workpiece. Move the grinder back and forth across the surface to ensure even material removal and prevent overheating.
- Cutting: For cutting operations, use a thin cutting disc. Position the workpiece securely. Make shallow passes, gradually increasing the depth of the cut. Do not apply excessive side pressure to the cutting disc, as this can cause it to bind or shatter.
- Derusting and Polishing: Use appropriate wire brushes or polishing pads (sold separately) for these tasks. Apply light pressure and work systematically across the surface.
5.3 Workpiece Preparation
- Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped or held to prevent movement during operation.
- Clear the work area of any obstructions or flammable materials.
- Mark your cutting or grinding lines clearly.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your angle grinder. Always disconnect the tool from the power supply before performing any maintenance.
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the ventilation slots to prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris. Do not use water or chemical cleaners.
- Disc Inspection: Before each use, inspect the grinding/cutting disc for cracks, chips, or excessive wear. Replace damaged discs immediately.
- Carbon Brushes: The carbon brushes may need replacement after extended use. This should be performed by a qualified service technician.
- Power Cord: Inspect the power cord for any damage. If damaged, have it replaced by a qualified electrician.
- Storage: Store the angle grinder in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children.
