4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the oven and all accessories from the packaging. Remove any packing materials, stickers, or protective films from the appliance.
  2. Placement: Place the oven on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the appliance (at least 10 cm clearance on all sides). Do not place it near flammable materials or heat sources.
  3. First Use Preparation: Before first use, wipe the interior and accessories with a damp cloth. Plug the oven into a grounded electrical outlet. It is recommended to run the oven empty for about 10-15 minutes at maximum temperature (230°C) with the function set to "Both Heating" to burn off any manufacturing residues. A slight odor or smoke may be present during this initial operation; this is normal. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.

5. Operating Instructions

The Midea MEO-40BGY1 offers versatile cooking options including roasting, baking, grilling, and toasting.

5.1 Basic Operation

  1. Prepare Food: Place food on the appropriate accessory (baking tray, wire rack) and insert it into the oven.
  2. Set Temperature: Turn the Temperature Control Knob to the desired temperature (70°C to 230°C).
  3. Select Function: Turn the Function Control Knob to select the desired heating mode:
    • Top Heating: Ideal for grilling and browning the top of dishes.
    • Bottom Heating: Suitable for baking and heating the bottom of dishes.
    • Both Heating: For general baking, roasting, and toasting, ensuring even heat distribution.
  4. Set Timer: Turn the Timer Control Knob clockwise to the desired cooking time (up to 60 minutes). The oven will automatically shut off when the timer reaches zero. For continuous operation, turn the timer past the 60-minute mark to the "Stay On" position.
  5. Monitor Cooking: Use the interior light to monitor the cooking process without opening the door.
  6. Completion: When cooking is complete, the timer will chime (if set). Carefully remove the food using oven mitts.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

  1. Always Unplug: Before cleaning, always unplug the oven from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may damage the finish.
  3. Interior Cleaning: The interior cavity can be wiped with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn stains, a non-abrasive oven cleaner designed for non-stick surfaces can be used, following the product instructions. Ensure all cleaner residue is removed.
  4. Crumb Tray: The crumb tray should be emptied and cleaned regularly to prevent grease buildup and potential fire hazards. Slide out the tray, discard crumbs, and wash with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly before reinserting.
  5. Wire Rack and Baking Tray: These accessories can be washed in warm soapy water or placed in a dishwasher.
