1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Tyler TBBP-4-WH Senior Landline Phone. This corded telephone is designed with large, high-visibility buttons and essential features for ease of use.

2. Package Contents

3. Setup

3.1 Connecting the Telephone

  1. Connect one end of the coiled handset cord to the handset and the other end to the jack labeled HANDSET on the side of the telephone base.
  2. Connect one end of the landline cord to the jack labeled LINE on the back of the telephone base.
  3. Plug the other end of the landline cord into your telephone wall jack.

The phone draws power directly from the telephone line, so no external power adapter is required. This ensures functionality even during power outages.

3.2 Wall Mounting (Optional)

The telephone can be mounted on a wall using the included wall mount bracket.

  1. Secure the wall mount bracket to the wall using appropriate screws (not included) at a desired height.
  2. Align the mounting slots on the back of the telephone base with the posts on the wall mount bracket.
  3. Slide the telephone base downwards onto the bracket until it locks securely in place.

4. Operating Instructions

The Tyler TBBP-4-WH phone offers a range of features for convenient communication.

4.1 Making and Receiving Calls

  • To Make a Call: Lift the handset or press the SPEAKER button. Dial the desired number using the large keypad buttons.
  • To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, lift the handset or press the SPEAKER button.
  • To End a Call: Place the handset back on the cradle or press the SPEAKER button again if using speakerphone.

4.2 Speakerphone Function

Press the SPEAKER button to activate the hands-free speakerphone. Press it again to deactivate or lift the handset to switch to private conversation.

4.3 Speed Dial (10-Number Memory)

The phone allows you to store up to 10 frequently called numbers for quick dialing.

  1. To Store a Number:
    a. Lift the handset or press SPEAKER.
    b. Press the STORE button.
    c. Dial the phone number you wish to save.
    d. Press STORE again.
    e. Press a number button (0-9) to assign it as the speed dial location.
    f. Hang up or press SPEAKER to complete.
  2. To Use a Stored Number:
    a. Lift the handset or press SPEAKER.
    b. Press the AUTO button.
    c. Press the assigned speed dial number button (0-9). The stored number will be dialed automatically.

4.4 Ringer Volume Control

Adjust the ringer volume using the switch located on the side or back of the phone base. Options typically include High, Low, or Off.

4.5 Redial Function

To redial the last number called, lift the handset or press SPEAKER, then press the REDIAL button.

4.6 Flash and Hold Functions

  • Flash: Used for call waiting or transferring calls, depending on your telephone service provider. Press the FLASH button during a call.
  • Hold: Press the HOLD button to place the current call on hold. Press it again to resume the call.
