How to Play
The objective of Pirates Crossfire is to place all remaining puzzle pieces (ships) onto the game board according to the rules of the chosen playing mode. Each puzzle piece consists of one or more ships attached to a water-shaped base.
Game Rules for All Modes:
- Ships only have cannons on their left and right sides. They cannot fire from the front or back.
- Ships can fire at any enemy ship that is in their line of sight (horizontally or vertically).
- Ships can fire any distance (1 to 3 squares) in a straight line, either horizontally or vertically.
- Ships can only fire at enemy ships when there are no obstacles (like rock pieces or other ships) in the line of sight of their cannons.
- Ships of the same color will never fire at each other.

Game Modes
Pirates Crossfire includes 4 distinct playing modes, each with a different objective:
- Mode 1: PEACE (Nobody Loses)
Place the pieces so the Navy Ships and Pirate Ships cannot fire at each other (no line of sight anywhere on the board). - Mode 2: PIRATES WIN
Place the pieces so the Pirate Ships can fire at all the Navy Ships, but none of the Navy Ships can fire at the Pirates. - Mode 3: NAVY SHIPS WIN
The Navy Ships can fire at all the Pirate Ships, but none of the Pirate Ships can fire at any Navy Ship. - Mode 4: TOTAL WAR (Nobody Wins)
All Ships must be hit by at least one enemy Ship.
Solving Challenges
Each challenge has only one correct solution. If you encounter difficulty, the solutions for all 80 challenges are provided at the end of the Challenge Booklet. Refer to these solutions to verify your placement or to get a hint.
