5. Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The Casio AE1500WH uses a CR2032 lithium metal battery, designed for approximately 10 years of use. When the display becomes dim or functions are erratic, it may be time to replace the battery. It is recommended to have battery replacement performed by a qualified technician to ensure water resistance is maintained. If replacing yourself, follow these general steps:
- Carefully remove the four screws on the back cover of the watch.
- Gently lift the back cover.
- Locate the battery and carefully remove it, noting its orientation.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery with the correct polarity.
- Perform an AC reset by briefly touching the AC contact (marked on the module) and the negative terminal of the battery with a metal tweezer.
- Replace the back cover and secure the screws, ensuring the gasket is properly seated to maintain water resistance.

Water Resistance Care
The watch is rated for 100-meter water resistance. This means it is suitable for swimming and snorkeling. However, avoid operating buttons underwater, as this can compromise the water resistance. After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and wipe it dry.
6. Troubleshooting
- Blank Display: If the display is blank, the battery may be depleted. Refer to the "Battery Replacement" section.
- Incorrect Time/Date: Re-enter the Time Setting Mode and adjust the time, date, and day as described in Section 3.
- Buttons Not Responding: A static charge or temporary malfunction might occur. Try performing an AC reset (refer to Battery Replacement section, step 5) or allow the watch to sit for a few minutes. If the issue persists, consult a service center.
- Condensation Inside Display: This may indicate a loss of water resistance. Avoid further water exposure and have the watch inspected by a qualified technician immediately.
