4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Transcend DrivePro 250 Dash Cam:

4.1. Insert the microSD Card

  1. Ensure the dash cam is powered off.
  2. Locate the microSD card slot on the side of the device.
  3. Gently insert the provided microSD card into the slot until it clicks into place.

4.2. Mount the Dash Cam

  1. Clean the desired area on your windshield, preferably near the rearview mirror, to ensure a strong suction.
  2. Attach the suction car mount to the dash cam.
  3. Press the suction cup firmly against the windshield and engage the locking lever to secure it.

4.3. Connect to Power

  1. Connect the car lighter adapter to your vehicle's 12V power outlet.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cable into the micro-USB port on the dash cam.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off

  • The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle's ignition is turned on.
  • To manually power on/off, press and hold the power button located on the device.

5.2. Basic Recording

  • Once powered on, the dash cam will automatically start loop recording. Older files will be overwritten when the memory card is full, unless they are protected.
  • In the event of a collision or sudden impact, the G-Sensor will automatically trigger emergency recording, protecting the current video segment from being overwritten.

5.3. Using the Snapshot Button

Press the dedicated snapshot button on the dash cam to instantly capture a still image during video recording. This image will be saved separately and protected from loop recording.

5.4. Wi-Fi Connectivity and DrivePro App

  1. Download the Transcend DrivePro App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Enable Wi-Fi on your DrivePro 250 via the device settings.
  3. On your smartphone, connect to the Wi-Fi network broadcast by the DrivePro 250 (SSID and password can be found in the dash cam's Wi-Fi settings).
  4. Open the DrivePro App to view live footage, browse recorded videos, download files to your phone, and adjust settings.

5.5. DrivePro Toolbox Software

For advanced video management on your computer, download and install the free DrivePro Toolbox software from the Transcend website. This software allows for video sorting, smooth playback, editing, screenshot capture, and map view for models with GPS/GLONASS receivers.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Device

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the dash cam.

6.2. Memory Card Management

7.1. Dash Cam Does Not Power On

  • Ensure the car lighter adapter is securely plugged into both the vehicle's power outlet and the dash cam.
  • Check if the vehicle's 12V power outlet is functioning correctly.
  • Try a different power source or cable if available.

7.2. Recording Errors or Freezing

  • Format the microSD card.
  • Ensure you are using a high-quality, compatible microSD card (Class 10 or higher recommended).

7.3. Wi-Fi Connection Issues

  • Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on the dash cam and your mobile device.
