4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Recording
The DP550B automatically starts loop recording when powered on. Video files are saved in segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes) to the microSD card. When the card is full, the oldest non-emergency files are overwritten.
4.2 Dual Lens Functionality
The dash cam features two lenses: a front lens for exterior recording (up to 2K QHD) and a rear lens for interior recording (1080P Full HD). Both lenses record simultaneously, providing comprehensive coverage.

4.3 Night Vision with Infrared LEDs
The interior camera is equipped with four infrared LEDs that automatically activate in low-light conditions, enhancing recording quality inside the cabin, even in complete darkness. Note that footage recorded with infrared LEDs will be in grayscale.

4.4 Wi-Fi Connectivity and DrivePro App
The built-in Wi-Fi allows you to connect the dash cam to your smartphone via the exclusive Transcend DrivePro App (available on App Store and Google Play). This enables real-time footage playback, video download, and device settings management without removing the microSD card.

4.5 GPS/GLONASS Receiver
The integrated GPS/GLONASS receiver geotags videos and images with location data. Using the DrivePro Toolbox software on a computer, you can view your travel routes on a map during video playback, providing crucial context for recorded events.

4.6 Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS)
The DP550B includes several ADAS features to enhance driving safety:
- Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS): Alerts you if the vehicle drifts out of its lane.
- Forward Collision Warning System (FCWS): Warns you if you are getting too close to the vehicle ahead.
- Speed Alarm: Issues an alert if your vehicle's speed exceeds a preset value.
- Headlight Reminder: Automatically activates when the DrivePro detects poor lighting conditions.
- Driver Fatigue Alert: Reminds the driver to rest after a defined period of driving.

4.7 Parking Mode
When activated, Parking Mode records when motion is detected, even when your vehicle is parked and the engine is off. This feature requires an external power supply after the car engine is switched off (e.g., a hardwire power cable).
4.8 Emergency Recording
The built-in G-Sensor detects impacts and automatically triggers emergency recording. These files are protected from being overwritten by loop recording, ensuring critical incident footage is preserved.
4.9 Snapshot Function
A dedicated snapshot button allows you to take still photos while recording video. This can be useful for capturing specific moments or documenting collision damage.
4.10 Built-in Battery
In the event of a power outage, the built-in Li-Polymer battery temporarily supplies power to the dash cam, allowing it to safely store recorded files and prevent data loss.

5. Maintenance
5.1 MicroSD Card Management
Regularly format the microSD card (at least once a month) to maintain optimal performance and prevent potential errors. This can typically be done through the dash cam's menu settings or via the DrivePro App. Using only Class 10 or higher endurance microSD cards is recommended.
5.2 Cleaning the Device
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the dash cam's exterior and lenses. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the device.
5.3 Firmware Updates
Check the Transcend website periodically for firmware updates. Keeping your dash cam's firmware up-to-date ensures you have the latest features and performance improvements.
