2. Safety Information
WARNING: Carbon Monoxide Hazard
Never use this generator inside a home, garage, or any enclosed space. Even if doors and windows are open, carbon monoxide can build up to dangerous levels. Always use the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far away from windows, doors, and vents to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
Always ensure the generator is placed on a level surface and away from flammable materials. Keep children and pets away from the operating generator.

3. Product Overview
The Genkins GK4500iF is a 4500 Peak Watt / 4000 Running Watt open frame inverter generator, powered by a 223 cc 4-stroke OHV engine. It provides pure sine wave electricity (less than 3% THD) suitable for sensitive devices.

4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your dealer immediately.
4.2 Adding Engine Oil
The generator is shipped without engine oil. Before first use, add 0.58 quarts (0.55 liters) of SAE 10W-40 engine oil. Do not overfill.
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
- Remove the cap and slowly add the recommended oil using the provided funnel.
- Check the oil level with the dipstick; it should be at the upper limit.
- Securely replace the oil fill cap.

4.3 Adding Fuel
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. The fuel tank capacity is 2.64 gallons (10 liters).
- Ensure the generator is turned off and cooled down.
- Open the fuel tank cap.
- Carefully pour gasoline into the tank, avoiding overfilling. Leave space for fuel expansion.
- Securely close the fuel tank cap.
4.4 Grounding the Generator
Always ground the generator before operation to prevent electric shock. Connect a ground wire from the generator's ground terminal to an appropriate ground source.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Starting the Engine
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and all electrical loads are disconnected.
- Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
- Move the choke lever to the CHOKE position (for cold starts).
- Turn the Power Switch to the ON position.
- Pull the recoil starter handle slowly until resistance is felt, then pull quickly and firmly.
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the RUN position.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before connecting electrical loads.
5.2 Connecting Electrical Loads
After the engine has warmed up, you can connect your electrical devices. Ensure the total wattage of connected devices does not exceed the generator's running wattage (4000W).
- Plug your devices into the appropriate AC or DC receptacles.
- If using the ESC throttle switch, you can turn it ON to allow the engine speed to adjust automatically based on the load, saving fuel.
- Monitor the status indicators for any overload warnings.
5.3 Shutting Down the Engine
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Turn the Power Switch to the OFF position.
- Turn the fuel valve to the OFF position.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and reliable operation of your generator.
6.1 Engine Oil Change
Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 100 hours or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
- Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then shut it down.
- Place a drain pan under the oil drain plug.
- Remove the oil drain plug and the oil fill cap/dipstick to allow the oil to drain completely.
- Reinstall the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
- Add new, recommended engine oil (SAE 10W-40) to the proper level.
- Securely replace the oil fill cap.
6.2 Air Filter Inspection and Cleaning
Inspect the air filter regularly and clean or replace it as needed, especially in dusty conditions.
6.3 Spark Plug Inspection
Check the spark plug for wear and proper gap periodically. Replace if necessary.
6.4 Fuel Storage
For long-term storage (over 30 days), drain the fuel tank and carburetor, or use a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation.
