2. Product Overview

3. Setup
3.1 Charging the Speaker
- Connect the provided charging cable to the speaker's charging port.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
- The charging indicator light will illuminate.
- Charging typically takes approximately 2 hours. The indicator light will change or turn off once fully charged.
3.2 Initial Bluetooth Pairing
- Ensure the speaker is fully charged.
- Press and hold the Power button to turn on the speaker. A voice prompt or indicator light will confirm it is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
- On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth.
- Search for available Bluetooth devices. The speaker will appear as "HC4" or similar.
- Select "HC4" to connect. Once paired, a confirmation sound will be heard.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
- Power On: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds.
- Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds.
4.2 Mode Switching
Press the 'M' (Mode) button to cycle through available modes: Bluetooth, FM Radio, TF Card, U Disk, and AUX.
4.3 Bluetooth Mode
- After successful pairing (see Section 3.2), the speaker will automatically connect to the last paired device when powered on.
- Use your connected device to control music playback (play/pause, next/previous track, volume).
- The speaker's volume buttons can also adjust the volume.
4.4 FM Radio Mode
- Switch to FM mode using the 'M' button.
- Press the Play/Pause button once to automatically scan and save available FM stations.
- Use the Next/Previous track buttons to navigate between saved stations.
4.5 TF Card / U Disk Mode
- Insert a TF (MicroSD) card or a USB flash drive (U disk) containing MP3 audio files into the respective slot.
- The speaker will automatically switch to TF Card or U Disk mode and begin playing music. If not, switch manually using the 'M' button.
- Use the Play/Pause and Next/Previous track buttons to control playback.
4.6 AUX Mode
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the speaker's AUX input port.
- Connect the other end to the audio output of your device (e.g., MP3 player, computer).
- Switch to AUX mode using the 'M' button.
- Audio will be played through the speaker. Control playback from your connected device.
4.7 True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Function
The TWS function allows you to pair two Hoco HC4 speakers together for a stereo sound experience.
- Ensure both HC4 speakers are powered on and not connected to any Bluetooth device.
- On one of the speakers (this will be the primary speaker), press and hold the TWS button (often the Play/Pause button or a dedicated TWS button, refer to speaker markings if available) until you hear a pairing prompt.
- The two speakers will automatically search and pair with each other. A confirmation sound will indicate successful TWS pairing.
- Once paired, connect your mobile device to the primary speaker via Bluetooth (as per Section 3.2).
- Audio will now play in stereo through both speakers.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- Always power off the speaker before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, alcohol, benzene, or other chemical solvents, as these may damage the surface or internal components.
- Avoid getting moisture into any openings.
5.2 Storage
- Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% every three months to preserve battery health.
